Theoretical production and theoretical 3 point shoot is great and all ...... but Capela gives us actual elite production.

If you can't make 3s at a decent clip, you're not gonna be guarded out there. So your percentage does matter if you're trying to force the hand of the defense. So if you're shooting 29% like Thon, you're really not worth guarding. You also need to be able to dribble around defenders that close too hard on your shot to be truly effective.

It's a good point about getting back on defense faster. I can see how that effects the game for sure.

There's an effect on the type of shots people get when you start scoring at the rim. Defenses have to sag and leave the three point line more open. It works and I can't imagine that changes unless Capela loses all of his athleticism.

Why is this still a thing? Capela worked his backside off to be a player and fit the needs of this team.

This team is in win now mode and Maker does not fit the bill in that regard.

The Rockets cannot afford to play wait and see on whether or not Maker develops.

    *sigh*

    You just. don't. get it.

Like Holic said, the Rockets will NEVER make the WCF with Clint Capela as our starting center.

Some of you just need to get that through your thick skulls!!!!! :D

Been is not adinoaaur. He's shooting the 3 as a second year player. And the Warriors paid all of looney/Bell/zaza/javale combined about a third or fourth of what Capela will make this season. It's ok to pay dinosaurs small contracts.

So let me get this straight. Is this what the Rocket's need?

    Rockets Center Requirements
    1. 7ft or taller.
    2. Be a 90/50/40 shooter
    3. Can guard all 5 positions even from 30ft out well
    4. Runs the PnR
    5. Rim protector
    6. Post moves like Hakeem
    7. Able to play all 48 mins

Can't believe we haven't found that player yet. Stupid Murray.

Evidently not much as Thon Maker remains glued to the bench, racking up DNP-CDs.

Could be true. But they're not paying him $75 million either.

At this rate Maker won't get paid anything at all.

Very possible. At this rate Capela may make $75 million to do the same thing that could be fine by a $2 million a year player. Which would be worse¿

    Bump!

Thong Maker gets the start for the injured Blake Griffin in a critical playoff game.

The result: 4 pts and 4 rebs in 22 minutes. 2/10 FGs, including 0/6 from 3.

Meanwhile, Clint Capela tonight: 32 minutes, 16 pts, 12 rebs, 2 asts, 1 blk.

Not to mention our best +/- player at +24 but numbers don't matter that much to a guy that can't count. #nevermakewcf #presidentromney

Well, to be "fair", Thon Maker's fan (He Who Must Not Be Named---oops, wait, he's the OP) has a bigger affinity for Rubio, who posted decent numbers in his first playoff game for 2019. Of course, best to let him score 15 than Mitchell go nuts.

    Bump.

We traded Ryan Anderson plus DeAndre Melton plus a first and a second rounder to escape the tax this year.

I would rather have kept Anderson and his big fat now expiring contract for 2019-2020, Melton, and the the picks. and had Maker, plus Nerlens Noel or Anthony Randolph or Dewayne Dedmon or Brook Lopez or Marcin Gortat or Jan Vesely or even DeMarcus Cousin signed with the MLE than to have Capela minus all the other stuff.

It's absolutely r****ded how much it's cost us to keep Capela on this team that once again WILL NOT win a championship and are #ALSORANS!!!!

Looking at one game while ignoring the big picture is amateurish. You're showing your ignorance.
