He's currently #3 in minutes played at 36.7. Curry, the other leading MVP candidate on the team with the NBA's best record, ranks #40 at 32.9. Westbrook, the NBA's leading scorer, is #27 at 33.9.

James' average speed is 3.7 mph, ranked #4 in slowest players in the entire league who play at least 10 minutes a game. Curry is 4.4, in the top 20% or so, and Westbrook is at 4.1. The NBA average is around 4.2.

So it's a Morey kind of poll, what can I say.

Last year Durant was #1 in scoring and only 0.2 minutes per game off being #1 in minutes and was the MVP on the team with the 2nd best record in the league.

You could do the same exercise with plenty of others in the past. There are many more guys who have played big minutes, scored big, won the MVP and their team got far and no injuries happened.

I don't for one second believe that his foot problems have to do with his minutes in his career. He's a freakishly tall stick figure. Sometimes injuries are just in the cards.

Curry is at 32.9 minutes per game, an MVP candidate, and on the #1 team in the league. Works for me.

Never gonna happen, how many times in the 4th have we given up a good lead that would've kept James on the bench? We can't defend and our offense goes to crap without him, I don't know what else you want from an MVP candidate

32 minutes at 100%. I just wanna see him perform at his highest level. If the games are close towards the end, then of course he'd have to play more minutes.

29 of the last 35 MVPs have averaged more minutes per game than Harden. The fewest minutes any MVP averaged was 34.3. 32 of 35 were as old or older than Harden.

There is no legitimate reason why Harden(or any young player) cannot play 36 minutes at their highest level.

Agreed 100%. I don't buy the tired talk one bit. It's a slump. One that I fully expect him to play out of very soon without any kind of big rest other than the random game where we are winning or losing by a ton in the 4th.

Didn't he just put up 50 a few days ago? Maybe he did it in his sleep.
