^ And he is in the HOF!! Harden will be in the HOF in another 5 years while he is still playing considering they admitted TMAC whose greatest feat was scoring 13 points in 35 seconds in a regular season game.

no one but Lebron could’ve done it

everyone calls KD the 2nd best player in the NBA, and in games 5, 6, and 7 of the 2016 WCF with a chance to put away a GS team with only 3 all stars instead of 4, he went 12-31, 10-31, and 10-19 while losing all 3 games...KD even had another star in Russ to provide help

now imagine KD on his own going up against a team on the level of this GS squad...he wouldn’t do sh*t...same with Curry, Kawhi, AD, and whoever else u want to name

How many superstars can you name outside of Lebron that have been able to take their team to the championship "on their own"?

Care to tell me how Harden “choked” in games 6 or 7? Really, I’d like to know.

Rockets would be in the finals right now and heavy favorites over Cleveland with Harden as the #1 option if CP3 didn’t get hurt and if Adam Silver didn’t pull out all the stops to ensure GS won

You guys do realize Golden State is actually one of the greatest teams ever assembled in all of sports, right? NO team has that amount of talent on their roster compared to their peers. I mean - I'm just as frustrated as the next guy about Harden's play but he is playing a historically great defense at their peak, in their prime. Not even Lebron is going to be able to single handedly will his team to a victory over the 73 win Warriors AND KD...and Lebron is the GOAT!!!

It's so frustrating because had James Harden or this Rockets team had come up in ANY other era, we win several titles but the tragedy for Houston fans is we are operating with possibly the best or 2nd best Rocket roster of all time but are playing in a time when the greatest team of all time was gifted Kevin Durant. Really think about that.

The worst superstar in history are the 2 or 2 officials officiating the game. They have lots more influence than many seem to want to realize or admit.

I'm not a James Harden fan at all. But I don't feel he's the reason why your Rockets lost this series --- despite some very poor shooting.

The worst game he played, they actually won. The Rox win that series if a healthy CP3 plays in GM's 6 and 7. And they could have won anyway in GM7. They were on their way until an momentum swing outside of their control occurred.

Saying a player "did it on his own" is a bit of poetic hyperbole, but still Kobe & the lakers won a ring with Ariza and a bunch of names nobody hardly remembers. When MJ was lead dog Chicago won. They haven't won before or since. I don't see Harden being anywhere close to being able to will a team to victory by his presence on the court. I keep hoping that he will, but I haven't seen it yet, and may never see it.

Kobe Bryant won the first three with Shaq.

Kobe Bryant selfishly shot the Lakers out of FInals against the Pistons.

Kobe Bryant laid a gigantic TURDISH EGG against the Celtics in game 7 of the finals. Ron Artest and Pau Gasol saved his ass.

Kobe Bryant quit against the Suns in a game 7.

MJ had Pippen his entire campaign. He had Horace Grant during his first run and Rodman in his second run. THat team had Kukoc coming off the bench. For its era, the team was stacked. That team took the Knicks to game 6 without Jordan. He wasn't playing on a scrub team. Besides, if you are going to compare players to Jordan, then 90% of the players will come up short.

Lebron James had one of the biggest choke jobs for a series in the Finals against the Mavs as well, people forget. And this was with Wade and Bosh on the team.

Selective memory can make anyone look great or horrible. You are also picking your examples from the best to ever play the game.

James Harden has already taken teams far in the playoffs. Falling short against one of the best teams in the NBA history which had 4 All stars playing is not catastrophic. The results were expected as soon as Chris Paul went out.

A lot of teams that have won the champions previously would have lost to this Warriors team. Conversely, if the Warriors were not around, Rockets would have won the championship this season. If the Rockets were playing in a different era, they would be contenders and would most likely win or come close to winning the championship..

The fact that Harden and Paul and a bunch of role players took the Warriors to 7 games and were up 3-2 on them should have been enough to shut you whiners up.

    But carry on.

We need to get Lebron. Make Harden the third option come playoff time. Limit his shot attempts. Sit his azz on the bench if he is not playing like a man.

The Lakers with both Shaq & Kobe would not have won rings without Kobe. The Kobe championships after Shaq definitely would not have happened without Kobe. Ain't none of those guys totally perfect. MJ was so competitive he was almost psychopathic. All that drive contributed to him being a degenerate gambler. Shaq & Kobe could of racked up 7 or 8 championships in a row except for their petty envy issues. Changing the narrative slightly, part of a superstars legacy is his ability to attract good players to play with them. And not only to play with them, but to also make that work. Dwight Howard is no Shaq, but he is, or was, and still is to some extent, a dominant center. The combo of Harden and D Howard should of been good for at least one championship.

    that’s not choking...

just because your shot is off doesn’t mean u choked...

1 all-star going up against 4 and losing is not choking. Y’all are funny...

Harden as the full-time PG will rack up turnovers, we saw that last season. Harden as the full-time PG against a defense like GS’s with the refs allowing them to be overly physical will definitely have a high turnover count. U seriously expected any different?

Harden would’ve had 40+ points on 28-29 shots in game 7, but the refs took away 10 potential points by not calling 2 obvious 3 point fouls and taking away a 4 point play. Anyone who thinks Harden choked is dumb.

You could be the worst member in BBS history, bot, based on your posting in D&D. It's sad to see your brute stupidity, with all respect due, on display in the GARM. Sad indeed. I honestly don't know why you have thread starting privileges.

While of course Harden is the superior overall player, their style is very different.

I get that people want to compare them because both played for the same ball club but they are not comparable.

McGrady's stigma will always be his early playoff exits...

Nobody remembers that Harden vanished in the Finals, he was too young and it is not brought up.

If McGrady found a way to be more efficient and more durable, that would have been a good start, a valid point to compare both. But he was not.

McGrady was never a superstar - the case could be made about Houston version of McGrady.

Being a superstar in his first year, is probably not enough.
