How is Conley first? He was easily one of the five best free agents in this draft class and was always pretty much a lock to get a max deal. If Memphis doesn't re-sign him, they immediately become a high lottery team. But with him on the roster and a potentially healthy Gasol, that could feasibly be a top 4 seed in the West. I went with Noah. Of everyone else on this list, nobody played worst basketball last season than he did. And I'd be willing to bet that nobody on this list has played in fewer games the last two seasons than him. The guy basically posted a 4/9/4 on 38% shooting and a shockingly awful 40.6% TS%. And it's not like he was phenomenal on defense. Even if that contract somehow ends up working out, this was a massive gamble by New York, and I don't understand why they needed to take it with so many other big men on the market this summer.
Even with salary-cap bump, these 10 NBA contracts raised eyebrows 10. Dwyane Wade 9. Solomon Hill 8. Jamal Crawford 7. Harrison Barnes 6. Luol Deng 5. Timofey Mozgov 4. Jeff Green 3. Allen Crabbe 2. Evan Turner Drum roll please.... Spoiler NUMBER ONE . . . YOUR HOUSTON ROCKETS!!!! Congrats Houston! 1. Ryan Anderson
To me, the fact that Solomon Hill isn't winning this poll is proof that he's the worst contract. He is an unknown bench warmer.
As expected, some terrible ass contracts handed out last year that teams are now trying to move (but can't or have to attach assets to). Dwight Howard Andre Drummond Chandler Parsons Ryan Anderson Allen Crabbe Luol Deng Joakim Noah Bismack Biyombo Evan Turner Timofey Mozgov Ian Mahinmi Kent Bazemore Jeff Green Miles Plumlee Solomon Hill ... ... ...
anderson looks like a steal compared to everyone except for conley on this list. you guys think playoffs are everything but ignore the regular season. anderson allowed harden to have another MVP season. do you guys think it's coincidental how both James Harden and Ryan Anderson struggled the majority of the playoffs? not having a big man who can space the floor and knock down deep threes really hurts hardens impact. still don't believe me? Last year we lost our only stretch big, donatas motiejunas and Harden went from an MVP type season to what some called a ballhog no one wants to play with. please learn how to appreciate what you have clutchfans!
Where's Nicolas Batum and the $120 million he stole from Charlotte? That's mind boggling. Back in the day that was Kevin Garnett money.
This should be the year in the last 30 or so seasons with the most worst contracts given. From those listed only one was traded at the cost of a former 2nd pick on his second year. Plumlee on the other hand that wasn't listed managed to get traded twice in that span. lol
I thought it was supposed to get even crazier this offseason, but now everyone has serious buyers remorse. Mozgov was idiotic when it happened, but it cost them the #2 pick from a couple years ago just to unload it less than a year after it was signed. Dwight Howard was dumped for what looked like negative value. It's going to be hard to move these contracts. Luol Deng? Joakim Noah? Chandler Parsons? Ouch! Even Ryan Anderson, who is more valuable and productive than many others, could be difficult to move.
