    Ouch.

I could see this becoming a career ending injury. It will take a lot of rehab to get that knee back to 100% and even when/if it becomes that healthy he is pretty up there in age and relies on his quickness to be effective on the court.

Best of luck to that dude.

That is tough, but a quad is not as bad as an ACL - he should recover fine.

Very sad to see this. Parker is a great player... and even though the Spurs are a hated rival in all honesty I really respect their players, coaches, and organization. Hopefully the surgery and recovery goes well and he is back on the court soon.

Too bad, but you're not going to get much sympathy from a Rockets fan who endured the McGrady/Yao injuries that destroyed multiple title contending seasons.

I bet you its some combination of a patella, meniscus, and or gastroc tear.

I don't see anything anywhere where they've described the nature of the injury. where are you hearing this is a quad injury?

oops, on edit, I see the edited original post. sorry DD, didn't catch it

It seems to me that a non-contact quad tendon tear would be pretty worrisome, especially for a guy with this much mileage

I'm so sorry to hear this. I don't wish injury on any player, and hope he will recover completely. Not only that, but I want to beat the Spurs with all their best players on the court.

Even if it doesn't guarantee us the series, it does guarantee us a better chance at winning the series. Parker gave the Spurs 10-30 on any given night. Who's gonna step up to fill his shoes in this series now?

    Damn.

Parker's a stud. A model of discipline and achievement. Best wishes to him for a full recovery.

Maybe it's time to retire. But he is owed like $15M next year right? Never mind, I don't think he'd walk away from that.

No kidding. 2007(Yao was not the same after that leg injury), 2008(Yao was out), 2009(T-Mac was out, Deke went down in Game 2 of Round 1, Yao went down in Game 3 of Round 2), 2013(Delfino went down before Game 6), 2014(Bev was playing with a partial tear of his MCL), 2015(Bev and D-Mo were out, Dwight injured his knee in Game 1 of the WCF). Hell, even this year, we had to play without Sam Dekker for all of the first round.

So no offense to Spurs fans, but cry me a river.
