Don't be foolish. This isn't fantasy basketball. This is a team game. Everyone needs to fill a role. And Klay fills his role better than Harden on that team.

They ain't trading Klay for anyone because he covers up all of Curry's liability on D and he doesn't ask for the ball

Harden is only overall better because of offensive abilities on the ball. His defensive abilities are below Thompson's. During the playoffs, Thompson made a lot of great 1-on-1 stops. Harden wouldn't give you those.

Now if you are picking one because you need a #1 option on offense, you go with Harden.

But if you already have great #1 and #2 options in Curry and Durant, Harden's offensive abilities aren't as needed while his defensive shortcomings hurt you. In contrast, Thompson's defense is a great plus.

Harden is overall better but Thompson is better for what the Warriors need. Warriors need Thompson's defense far more than they need Harden's offense.

It's amazing to say this, but the Warriors just don't need another creator like Harden with KD, Steph and Draymond already on the team.

I bet they'd trade him for Kawhi, but obviously the Spurs would never do that.

They would definitely trade him for Kawhi. Kawhi has a great contract and Klay will make too much in 2 years. And Kawhi can do what Klay can do on D and doesn't need the ball. He is probably the only one they would break up the team for.

    [IMG] Boston Sports Report‏ @celtics18x

League Exec. Source, Boston and GSW in "Preliminary" trade talks for Klay. 2018-19 assets involved. Deal could be done early as tonight.

People love to make up Klay trade. He must have been traded about 50 times

klay thompson, devin booker and gordon hayward have terrible advanced stats. These gys are media hype mostly and some of the biggest streak shooters in the league

dear nba fans, please love klay thompson.. he has never had a player efficiency rating over 20 in his career but despite that is hailed as a better 2 guard than jimmy buckets and james harden despite being nothing more than overrated on d and a streak shooter from 3.Please know that when it means teams are trying to trade for klay that must mean they fear he will left off the all-star team over harden and jimmy buckets who are both superior players to klay. Because with Butler joining the wolves their is a a solid chance klay will miss the all-star and his media hype will fade lol, hes been living of all-star votes and fugazi all-nba teams( most notably in 2016) for the longest and playing in the bay( silicon valley) certainly helps along with being dicked down by espn retired football analysts like marcellus wiley, mike golic, and others who know nothing about the nba as a whole but because espn has a studio is california they think klay is the best 2 way best guard in the league lol. So plz Michael Haynes keep making up lies that teams are willing to trade young talent for an ineffiecent chucker who cant dribble or dunk. More Klay Thompson articles keeps his name relevant all while he is clearly now the 3rd or 4th best 2 guard in the West.

    Well:

    Klay Thompson:
Has an above league PER (17.4 - a stat I personally hate, but is considered advanced)
Has a trueshooting % of 59%, which is well above league average
Has a 111 offensive rating, and 108 defensive rating, putting him at a simple +3, which is positive
He also has a base plus / minus of +.3, which is not terrible
The warriors have a team output of 1.189 points per possession with him on the court, while only 1.131 with him off.
The warriors have an opponent output of 1.0457 points per possession with him on the court, and 1.062 with him off.

Those are quite a few of the important advanced statistics, and none of them are terrible.

LOL people act like Harden never played off ball, 3pointer, layups, and defense in OKC
If you have a chance to get 2 time MVP runner-up and players MVP then you make it work
we all know OKC made a mistake by letting Harden go but now you think GSW should pass up on Harden?

Curry, Harden, Barnes, Dray, Bogut, AI, etc.. = 2016 Champs
Curry, Harden, KD, Dray, Zaza, AI, West = 2017 Finals Sweep

But then again why the hell will Morey trade Harden straight up for Klay. Rockets might not even make the playoffs even with CP3.
