This is one of the most important questions much answer.
    Original Team Contract: 80 million
    Add Chris Paul 31
Add Ariza and LMM 15 million (pay cut)
Reserve for 4 minimum salaries:4 million
Total: 130 million (9 million over luxury tax line before resign Capela)

Assume that Mark Cuban gives Capela 3-years 70 million contract starting at 26 million, will Owner match the offer sheet?

nba history record: 218 million if match (156 million salaries + 62 million luxury taxes)

No, Tilman is in financial trouble. Rockets are broke. No money for LeBron, Capela, Chris or anyone else.

    Now STOP making threads.

The brutal truth Rockets must face, but some fans refuse to face.

Didn't being a Rookie used to mean that you couldn't start threads? Or am I just imagining that?

Just something I thought about when Fatty started posting again, but here's another case.

I don't know you keep up this narrative , I've already explained to you in several of your own threads that they can keep Capela , all their fee agents and get Lebron or other 3rd star too.

@ballscientist1 I was wondering when we would get the next ballscientist1 thread

Well ballsyscientist. The newest CBA has made it easier to sign ones own free agents, whether they be
unrestricted free agents or restricted free agents.....as a matter of fact the NBA/owners/players promote
it. So the Rockets can be capped out and still add Capela without being hit immediately with repercussions.

Before Tilman bought the Rockets I saw that Tillman was valued around 2.8 billion.
Then bought the team for 2.2 billion. So Tillman is replenishing his empire with casinos, restaurants and Rockets
profits. I expect Beyoncé to join forces so that money is not an issue. Rockets can venture to those outrageous
numbers you put forth. Me personally, I would probably draw the line of walking from Capela if he signs an
offer sheet greater than $18 million. Of course that depends if Qi and/or Hartenstein are traded in the next
two weeks. Other cheaper options are being considered. Nerlens Noel this summer. Trading for a guy like Dedmon
whom Morey loved and wanted the previous summer before he signed with S.A.. Perfect fit for Rockets.

Morey always has a fall back plan. He is always two steps ahead of you and your favorite team. So go
tell your Warriors that resistance is futile. Go ahead and disband your team this summer.

Capella at anything over $13-14 million MAX, and I let him walk. not worth it. could get vets like brandon wright or Tyson chandler for pennies on the dollar. And depending on how big the pay cut it, DJ if he wants to win a ring with Paul and company. I like capella, but not that much. Sorry.

I’m with you. The only thing I have to say with that is Capela let’s go big over the hard cap while the others don’t.

If the rule hasn’t changed.....once you hit the hard cap/apron you can only offer vet min contracts or tiny contracts.
Like D-Wade got with the Cavs type small contract. Because they were over the hard cap. So that’s
the only real advantage of signing Capela. But like Parsons, Morey had Ariza waiting in the shadows.
ballscientist1 just don’t know......Morey. Morey has other options.
