Rockets Front Office is conflicted to release Troy or not

It's done. At the end of the day, potential is meaningless if you can't fulfill it outside of the G-league. Troy had potential but he never showed it consistently. Hopefully he gets another shot.

He's basically a slightly above average G-league player, and a replacement-level NBA player. Replacement-level means that he's easily replaced.

Hartenstein is our best prospect . Qi may have a bit more upside , but he is unlikely to reach it given his age and questions about strength .

Hartenstein is super young , and already has filled out a bit . Looks to have a great feel for the game . He could and perhaps should be our backup center next year . He fell in the draft due to injury concerns . If he's stayed injury free and a professional conditioning programs has improved his athleticism ... He's gonna be quite solid .

I think very little about bringing back a Troy Daniels, Canaan, Terrence Jones or DMo.
But I hope Covington and Troy Williams will find their way back to the Rockets some day.

They will become solid sound rotational players in this league eventually.

Damn that's too bad. I think he needs to improve his defense and to refine his jumper to make it more consistent. He'll find a home in the league just like Covington did. Good luck, Troy!

Covington is already making over 13 mil a year, I think he passed that 'solid rotation player'/'sneaky good player' status. He maybe in this overpaid stature by now.

My guess is it's all about the position. We just signed JJ who is also capable of playing the wing. We are overloaded on the 3 spot and our 3rd string PG is yet to be solidified.

I don't think much of Troy. He's no Covington.

He's in his prime years at the moment. Its not like he's 23. He can maybe become a more consistent shooter, and is already a decent defender. A mid level exception kind of player. 62 for 4 yrs is too much for what he brings, but good on him, Im rooting for him.

Put him on the Rockets team. His numbers would sky-rocket like Gerald Green.
    But it all good.

I would love him on the Rockets, for what Green and Mba A Moute getting. Not for what he makes now.

Life works in mysterious ways. Full of twists and turns. I’ve wanted Covington ever since he left
the Rockets. I’m talking anytime in the near future, being next 5 years.

I’m also talking about Troy Williams coming back soon, as in next 10 years. Not talking immediately, as
in we got to bring them back now. This moment. Take it easy killer.

Covington can’t stand out on a team full of babes. Come on. Next year Embiid, Simmons will progress.
Redick injuries. If they can get a vet PG of any quality.....Covington could shine. He has come a long
way from being undrafted. His Peak is not 28. His Peak will be closer to 31 years of age. Yule C.

We never play him anyway, so what is the point? We can bring him back this summer.
