Good insurance signing.. Even though we could do 10 day contracts if our guards get injured, having someone constantly practice with the team and learn the system somewhat is much safer way.

Most teams have that 3rd string player or players in case of injury, and his contract won't dampen our flexibility seeing as its most likely a min. sized contract. If he turns out to be a somewhat serviceable pg then it will be a big plus, but at this point i'd rather be safe than sorry.

Seeing as our guards are a little more injury prone, even at sf, this gives us more flexibility to go small if push comes to shove.

 

Yes, we need someone to run the office. :grin:

the guy is faster

only problem is that if people think Lowry is a bad shooter from the outside, Smith makes Lowry look like Brooks out there.


he can run and score in transition with the best of them...he has to get better with his floater as he can get into the paint with ease.

only problem is that his passes are a bit low or a bit too late.


A good signing imo despite all that if Lowry or Brooks (and I hope neither of them do) sit out a few games having Smith become the backup PG is not a bad option. Last year with lowry out having conroy and temple was really difficult and the team suffered and Brooks had to play a lot more (esp when the backup was conroy)


any details on the contract 1 year guarantee? or both years or none?
