Always hated the fact that the fans dont show up on a consistent basis until the playoffs and far too many time during the regular season the toyota center looked half empty.

I always blamed the downtown location for this. Pain in the ass driving to downtown and getting parking. Miss the summit highway 59 location.

Will Houstonians finally show up on a consistent basis now that we have two legitimate superstars and a legitimate championship contending team?

    Sellout is a high chance.

    Filled up is another story.

Lower bowl season ticket seats have nearly sold out. It's still July.

The traffic was terrible in the garages around the Summit. Also limited bars and restaurants. The Toyota Center location is perfect

Selling out isn't the issue, it's getting people to show up on time.

Lower bowl seats typically go to corporate sales, and season ticket holders. I suspect that it will be dramatically more packed in the upper bowl, and corners of the lower bowl this year.

However, you will probably still see alot of empty seats in the lower bowl on nights the Rockets play a non-marquee team.

That being said, I think they will sell-out most of their games this year technically... but its not going to THAT hard to find tickets, and on TV your still going to be scratching your head at how many people either show up late, or dont come at all... just the nature of high corporate ticket sales which the Rockets sell a ton of.

I always remembered 59 to be a PITA when I still lived in H-Town.

Houston could get Lebron James and unless we are winning consistently you will see empty seats. I'm guessing in the beginning you will see empty seats, but if we are on our way to win 60 games people will start showing up.

I don't think that's attendance number. It can't be that high judging from my eye test.

The seats won't be filled, but the clubs above them will be.

Toyota center has sold out, the Chinese are coming!
Leslie needs to stop caring about money and give those lower bowl seats to fans and people who show up. So sick of that place looking empty!

Are you serious? This is about the most convenient location the stadium could be in. Plus, it gives the surrounding area a nice revitalizing boost. I have never heard anybody complain about the location of any of our stadiums. The reason for the lack of sellouts is because the team has been completely and utterly mediocre since 2009. Last season, there was a bit more excitement, but not enough to translate to a huge buzz around the team. This season will be much different.

I guess you think Miami had a low season attendance too. The eye test doesn't mean ****. This isn't a college town and the Rockets aren't the only sport in town.
