Weren't you the one crying to the heavens about the loss of a 6'7 center, hypocrite much? And your hot takes are pure ignorance . Smoothie King & chowd level.
Here's what I don't quite get: the NBA has its concerns about at-risk coaches, but what has not been discussed, or as far as I'm aware not publicly, is another group that's arguably at an even greater risk: referees. There were around 70 referees to officiate an NBA game this season. From what I've looked up there are two refs in the "higher risk" group (65+): Ken Mauer and Michael Smith (both 65). (For reference, there are a handful of others outside the arbiteat age group: Bill Spooner (63), Rodney Mott (63 in September), and Tom Washington (62).) The thing is, it's crucial to have experienced refs available. Even if the reputation of referees swing from "who the hell is that" to "**** this ref in particular", there are lots of nuances when it comes to officiating an NBA game, particularly come playoff time. Worth noting that Mauer is currently the referee with most playoff games officiated, while Smith doesn't appear to officiate that many playoff games. If the NBA deems older coaches are too great a risk from participating, will the NBA also "ban" Mauer and Smith from games as well?
Will it make a difference!? These are tough times. Is mda in it to tighten up his financial pockets. Can't really say he in it to win it!
The mindset of players and coaches should be pure competitive basketball, no business, nor other non-sense. Let's finish out the season strong...
For his own protection due to underlying conditions. He already looks like he's 70. His immune system has got to be F'ed up with all the detergent he's ingested.
Furthermore, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Zach Lowe reported Wednesday that there could be legal means to challenge the NBA, should they attempt to exclude coaches solely by age. https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...mike-dantoni-will-coach-rockets-upon-restart/
