I think it is very feasible that he might make it. He might make it just on sheer votes alone, but if he doesn't I wouldn't have a problem putting him in. The mavs are a lottery team without him.

I doubt it. His brand isn't big enough. And the All-Star game is all about your brand. It's a popularity contest. Also, Slovenia doesn't have as many people as China does to vote him in. However, if Doncic had Embiid's social media game, it might have been close...

He's going to be getting votes from all the euroleague fans. Not just Slovenia.

Euroleague doesn't have that many fans to begin with. And even less of them will care enough to vote for him for the NBA all-star game.

If the Mavs are still above .500 when voting is in, then yes.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a rookie since Yao, to make it into the ASG in his first year. I thought LeBron for sure made it, but nope.

EDIT: Blake Griffin made it to the ASG in his rookie year, but didn't start.

I picked no, at first, but then remembered that the coaches select the remaining 14 non-starters.

He's definitely not getting in through votes (so not starting), but coaches will definitely consider him.

I mean you're probably right, but he has sooooo many die hard stans I feel like they'd stuff the ballots for him.

Maybe. I think it would be interesting to see him get selected. He's a pretty flashy player so the All-Star game would be even better.

Let's hope not. Would be a shame to tarnish the All-star game with that bums presence

Luka is playing less minutes in last 10 games and his FG% is dropping. He is taking a lot of unassisted shots, and lot of tough shots (stepbacks, turnaround jumpers, pull-up jumpers etc.). His FG% on tough shots was outstanding during first month, but he is regressing to the mean now.

If this trend continues (and it probably will), he won't make it into All-Star.

I was hoping you'd say that. That is indeed the correct answer.

There is this thing named Rookie Wall.

Nobody has ever climbed over it entirely.

He actually has a decent shot, the only shoo-ins at forward are LBJ, KD, George, and Green. You have Harris, as well from LA. Luka might sneak in, but I doubt it.

I think Davis is going to be in the center category.

Didn't they get rid of the Center category years ago? Is it making a comeback?

He already had his rookie wall in January and February when playing Euroleague. I hope it's the only rookie wall he had to climb. But it would sure be nice if Dallas could create some easy shots for him.

As polished as Doncic is, you can't really compare the NBA and the Euroleague. Just because he struggled for a couple months in the Euroleague doesn't mean he won't hit the rookie wall in the NBA where the level of play is vastly superior.

I'm not comparing the two. Just noting that he had his struggles and he probably learned from them. When he encounters similar struggles this season, he will be better equipped to handle them because he already went through it once.
