Kobe was just trying to get position, its not his fault that Ron's throat viciously attacked his elbow.
Well if the the rulebook states that, kobe SHOULD BE SUSPENDED.... but if the nba wants the cavs and lakers in the finals, he wont
no, he won't be suspended and shouldn't be. and i don't want him to be suspended. we can beat them w/o him being suspended, too.
I wrote this in the Mike & Mike thread... The NBA follows the rule exactly to detail when a player comes just a foot off the bench during an on the court fight. Does the NBA really need to suspend a player when he just walks a few feet from the bench and never actually gets into the fight? No, but they follow the rule as it’s written so there is never any discrepancy. Why wouldn't the NBA suspend a player over an elbow to the neck that is stated in the rule book as a suspendable offence? You’re telling me Amare walking a few feet from the bench a few years against the Spurs is worse than an elbow to the neck?
They will give some sort of crazy justification for why what he did was inadvertent. "We've reviewed the tape of the incident and have determined that the facts of the situation do not merit a suspension. It seems to us that the player was attempting to clear his man out and inadvertently "pushed off" on his defender with an elbow, but did not show an act of aggression. This was a common basketball play that was complicated by the coincidental placement of the push-off elbow on the defenders throat. However, there was no intent. Thank you."
