Spawned from the Holliday talk in the other thread...

If I had to guess, I'd say we keep 6 WRs on the final roster. Right now, we have 11.

    Locks:

    Andre Johnson
    Kevin Walter
    Keshawn Martin

    Probable:

    Lestar Jean
    DeVier Posey

So assuming we keep 6 and don't bring anyone else in at the last minute, which one of these guys gets that final roster spot?

Bryant Johnson (only one with NFL experience)
    Trindon Holliday (one-trick pony)
    Juaquin Iglesias (reach)
    Jeff Maehl (reach)
    Jerrell Jackson (extreme longshot)
    Mario Louis (extreme longshot)

If Trindon continues to look as good on returns as he did last week, it's going to be too tough to cut him. Otherwise, it goes to Johnson unlress one of the other guys shines the next three games. Or pick up another vet off the scrap heap.

Holliday will make it. yes, he's a one trick pony but it's a trick that is extremely advantageous. the others marginally help the texans.

    our WRs will be:

    Andre Johnson
    Kevin Walter
    Keshawn Martin
    Lestar Jean
    DeVier Posey
    Trindon Holliday

Didn't we only keep 5 active WR's for much of last season? Wouldn't be surprised to see them do that again.

    Johnson
    Walter
    Martin
    Jean
    Posey

Jean is the wildcard, they won't cut DeVier Posey, he is a lock. Depending on the rest of the roster they might keep 6 if Jean and Johnson both look great. I think that is where the battle is, Jean vs. Johnson.

And he has good hands and he was clutch in college. Would love to see him make it!

    Andre
    Walter
    Johnson
    Posey

    are all locks

I assume the final spot goes to Jean. The only way they keep 6 is if they keep Holliday for returning purposes.

I think they go with the kids behind Walter/Johnson. No sense in keeping a useless vet just because he's a vet.

He's got a gimp knee and may not be able to play at all this year.

As long as Trindon keeps gaining us good feild position in the pre-season he'll more than likely be the 6th man. That would be such a value when the real games begin, assuming he stays healthy.

Keep Trindon Holliday. Bryant Johnson can be picked up off the FA trash heep if someone gets injured.

    our WRs will be:

    Andre Johnson
    Kevin Walter
    Keshawn Martin
    Lestar Jean
    DeVier Posey
    Trindon Holliday

I could see this but I also could see them IRing Posey and looking through the roster cuts from other teams for veteran help. Either way, I think Holliday sticks as long as he doesn't get hurt or make some stupid plays returning kicks in the preseason.

    Agree with the selections of:
    Andre Johnson
    Kevin Walter
    Keshawn Martin
    Lestar Jean
    DeVier Posey
    Trindon Holliday

I don't see the purpose of keeping Bryant. If one our flankers suffers a casualty, you can always see the waiver wire, the P-squad or call the shanahans for a medic.

I wouldnt be surprised if they swapped Bryant Johnson with Posey or Holliday. Kubiak likes having a seasoned veteran. Holliday will have to score another touchdown or two to keep a roster spot. There's just too many other players (i.e. Martin, Manning, Forsett, Demps) that can do what he does.

I wouldn't put Holliday on any list, not necessarily because he won't make the team, but because he won't be playing any WR. Did he take any snaps at WR vs. the Panthers?
