Because it shows how good we could be in the first half and how awful our defense and coaching is when we get punched in the face. This isn't as bad as losing to the Nets but these collapses are frustrating because we know the potential, they just have a hard time utilizing thier stength for 48 minutes. Can't wait for allstar break. Reset everything and get the team some practice to gel into the post season.

You think adding new players in a scheme causes immediate results? Look at old last year lol.

True. But what has been going on around here is far beyond that. Full on depression mode, and trying to drag everyone else down.

It would be fine if Rockets didn't blow a 3-2 lead in the WCF last year. Yeah we can't go back and change that and we can't magically heal CP3 to play game 6 or 7 but what we can do is learn from that and don't have games like yesterday against OKC if we are THAT hungry and serious about winning the championship. Yeah one game in a regular season of 82 games but we gotta break the bad habits now so they don't show up in the playoffs due to us not taking it serious enough now. That's my 2 cents.

We’re like 50 games in almost at the All Star Break. No habits are being broken at this point. The team is what it is and will continue to blow games. They simply don’t know how to play for a full 48 minutes. Been that way all season regardless who’s been in the lineup.

Agreed. I left this forum for several months b/c of the animus toward Ryan Anderson last year. I don't think it is human nature. I think negative people are just very vocal. When it comes down to it, the NBA is JUST A GAME.

Negativity is perception. What you're describing is criticism, and you can look at the criticism in a positive way, just like you are asking critics to look at failures in a positive way. IMO there are few things more negative than arbitrarily labelling things negative just because you can't see that positive/negative is a totally subjective dichotomy.

Of course it happens but not as many times as the Roxs have done it this year

As I see it, the problem isn't a blown game or two (or six) in the regular season, it's that we don't seem to be able to adequately protect a lead. And if we don't figure THAT out, it will come back to haunt us come playoff time.

I don't mind watching a dumb loss now, but if we blow a 26-point Game 7 lead in the playoffs, it'll be because we never learned how NOT to.

Because this team was so close last year and in the middle of Harden’s prime with him having a historic season this team seems to have regressed.

A better knee jerk reaction is Harden's injury. If he is ddwn for any length of time, Rockets could fall to bottom or out of playoffs.

W or L vs. OKC is secondary to that concern.

The Rockets right now probably prepping for Dallas and finishing well going into the All Star Break. The GM as he stated is still looking to make more additions. Hopefully a 3/4 or 4/5 with some length and help with rebounding as well as spread the floor. MDA and the coaches as they do will be studying video perhaps looking at late game situations where the Rockets played subpar closing out games. All being well with the team getting healthy after the All star break and more depth at Power Forward the Rockets can make a serious run going into the playoffs.

    Spurs Game 5
    Warriors Game 6
    Warriors Game 7

Those are just a few playoff games, I’m sure there are more, in recent years that we’ve handed away large leads in the playoffs. You can almost guarantee at this point that we will add to that list in this year’s postseason.

I’m not sure if it’s Harden, if it’s the role players, or if it’s the coaching, but for whatever reason...this team makeup has consistently found ways to stagnate and give away games. If things were going to change, they would have by now. Adjustments aren’t being made, and it’s hard to know what the solution is at this point.

All I want to do is fast forward the season and see if we can beat the Warriors in the playoffs.

You mean why am I so grumpy when we blow games after we showed our ability to wreck shop?

All of those teams had more talent than the Rockets.

After last season, expectations were sky high for this season. Then Morey lets Ariza and Moute go, signs a bunch of scrubs, releases scrubs, signs more scrubs, Harden goes all world, CP3 gets hurt "again," Capela get hurt, Rockets struggle to even be in the playoff picture, etc. etc. All that kind of puts fans in a bad mood.

If I would have bought a ticket to this game I'd been even more negative. Another problem is the incompetence of executing a plan at times. We have too many guys on this team that just lose their minds and make some of the stupidest errors late in games. We've won some and we lost some but man... these guys got to get their heads out their a$$. Guys been playing too long and making too much money not to know when we are on offense vs when we are on defense late in the game (PJ Tucker.) Harden hits a late floater to put us up by 1 then on the very next possession we let Westbrook drive to basket with no one player in sight. Man some of this stuff is plain stupid on the players and that's just unacceptable.
