Blowing a 26 point lead is bad. It happens pretty frequently in the NBA especially with rise of 3 point shooting and no defense. The Celtics blew a 28 point lead last night to the clippers who lost their best player. Celtics also blew an 18 point lead to cavs a few nights ago The clippers have been down 20 the last 5 games and they are 3-2.

Now you might say good teams don't blow 20 point leads. Well the warriors blew a 20 point lead against the Rockets in a great game earlier this month. Are they a bad team too?

It happens. The Rockets still looked good most of the game. Ultimately its just another regular season game. I think realistically the rockets will get a 4th or 5th seed. As long as they are healthy going to the playoffs that is fine.

i see what you're saying but i think this irrational heat of the moment response is part of being a fan. it's entertainment, you don't have to be always completely have everything thought out and analyzed. it's ok and fun to have knee jerk reactions sometimes

@OP: The Celtics actually lost their best player, in Kyrie.

But honestly, people are negative because it's simply human nature to point out the flaws. No one is going to talk about what a great game CP3 had, or how good Shumpert's defense was. People are naturally drawn to how little Tucker contributes on defense or how we blew such a big lead.

Also, the Warriors are pretty safe, in terms of playoff standings, if they lose a few games here and there. If we lose 2-3 in a row, we might be looking up at the 8th seed.

The negativity isn’t really about one blown lead, it’s about the rockets demonstrated tendency to blow leads constantly. Sometimes it bites them and sometimes they win, but it leads to frustration

Unfortunately that’s a side effect of the way the rockets play.

This is how arguments get started, though. People don't stop, calm down and think for about half an hour before hitting "create thread" and titling their latest masterpiece "HEY, I THINK IT'S TIME TO..." and then their first post is "...blow it up. Morey sux, MDA sux, CP old, Nene old" and then end their "smart" idea at that.

Yes. This is the one time the Rockets have blown a big lead. They’ve never done this elsewhere. Surely it will never happen again, certainly not in the playoffs!

Ultimately it's just another choke job by the Rockets. They've done it before. Wait a few games & they'll do it again.

Dan Tony doesn't adjust anything this Rocket team will either make 3's or die trying. That BS almost worked against GS and y'all know how that ended

im sad about it cause harden played through pain only for us to lose a big lead. and for days we are talking about how our team would improve defensively and rebounding wise after acquiring shumpert. oh well i guess we can only really know the true potential of our team when clint returns. but damn i really thought we would win this game. well we almost did. losing close games really sucks.

To the extent I'm negative about the Rockets, it's primarily about them being a poor defensive team at this point. Blowing that lead is a symptom of that bigger issue, to me.

We have been waiting for the trade deadline to fix our problems and it did nothing.

Also MDA’s lack of in game adjustments isn’t going to change

Every team in the NBA blows big lead its just not the Rockets. It seems to be happening with pretty frequent regularity. This is pretty much meaningless regular season game. As long as they make the playoffs it doesn't matter. If we were 24-30 I might be more worried.

The team is still not complete. Will wait to see IF the team is still losing games like this in late March. This is a marathon not sprint. Rockets should be ready just in time for the playoffs.H-Town Crazy!! Go Rockets!!

Just saying, blown lead in the regular season is forgivable. Blown big lead Game 7 is not going to be rosy.

Thank you for this post! I know we human beings are wired to remember and emphasize all the negative sh&$t - that’s where all the cynicism and whining start. Yes we can run up 20 points on ANYBODY. It’s a game of runs. Seeding and matchups are what we’re gonna be looking for in the playoffs.
