Last season the NBA awarded Westbrook with the MVP award for averaging a triple double. All he needs is .4 more rpg and he’s averaging a triple double. He’s in 6th place just like last year & shooting the same percentages. Westbrook should be the leader for this years MVP.

Why isn’t the media giving it to him this year? They had no problem stealing Harden MVP last season. Why aren’t people amazed like they were last year? Yes they got more talent but at the end of the day he’s playing at the same level.

In all honestey I think LeBron and Harden are the front runners.

9.6 RPG ain't 10, no MVP for russ.

I remember Cowherd predicting this after the end of last season, that nothing would stop WB from averaging a tripul doble again, he would do it again, and he wouldn't even finish top 5 in MVP voting.

    it has to be 10.0.

remember when voters said they wouldn't vote westbrook for mvp if he only averaged 9.9 rebounds?

That 0.4 rebounds makes all the difference in the world. You can bet your life he's counting.

The difference for this season is that they got rid of Kanter, a very able boxing-outer. Westbrook actually had more help last season. If he could average a triple double again, it would be even more impressive and I'd cast my MVP vote for him!

nice round numbers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> winning basketball

Just like 7'0" is far better than 6'11" even tho its only one inch, same for 5'11 and 6'0".
Just like 20 PPG is so much better than 19 PPG, yet there isn't much of a difference between 22PPG and 23PPG.
    Its all about round numbers.

It says a lot about your game when you lose more than you win when you are taking the most shots. This is why I always used to claim that players like Chris Paul and Russel Westbrook could never be the best player on a championship level team.

They have agendas when they are playing. Westbrook is more concerned with stats than winning. It is obvious in his play and on court demeanor. Chris Paul would be more concerned with the flashy dribbling and passing than actually scoring when he should.

Chris is our best player when he is a shooter first/passer second.

Chris Paul knows that the team is better off when he sets up others for easy shots instead of going 1v1, even though he is elite at it. The man is #1 all time in offensive rating. The only real criticism of why CP3 could never, at any point in his career, be the #1 option on a championship team is that he is almost TOO consistent. While a guy like Harden can singlehandedly win a playoff game while the opponent is on fire by simply overwhelming them with scoring, he can also lose a game that the team should have easily won. CP3 has never backed down or regressed in the playoffs, but his statistics never "explode" like a LeBron, this is why we got CP3 in the first place, so Harden can carry us when he's hot, and CP3 can carry the load when Harden isn't.

CP3 is by advanced metrics the best PG of all time. He is a great player, but his style of play at times is at detriment to the team. He is too selfless on the court at times and teams adjust to that.

Steve Nash was lethal offensively when he started to shoot more. Chris needs to become more of a scorer to beat the Warriors. He is a good enough player to make the right basketball play in the correct moment.

its clear he doesn't want to shoot the ball in transition and when wide open pull up 3 is available...you can just feel it he would like to dribble it some more around for a 'better ' shot to be come available

Need to let Chris play free.

29 shots for 37 points. 128 offensive rating.

    Chris didn't even shoot 50%

We need that Chris. That is a guy who can rival Curry offensively.
