Why is the small lineup so good at ball denial & deflections?

    I do think that there are some systematic differences in the defensive scheme, specifically denying the ball to the opposing big.
    I think the Rockets did lots of fronting the opp big before, but now it is 100% mandatory at all times, and a second or even third defender is looking to deflect or steal the lob pass (which tend to be slower and easier to track than other passes.) I don't think they were doing this before.

    They fall back in overdepending in Clint: it was some very lazy perimter defense played when Clint was I the gameZ they took his presence for granted and thought he had to clean up whatever trash they let in the paint. Clint did his job she. He was in the game. The perimter players jsut were lazy and making him have to overcompensate. Like Matt said one game when harden was getting on mclemore” you have to guard your man and my man”. I honestly felt watching that lil spat that was the main point of the conversation.
