After seeing some of prince in the playoffs who would u rather have. I would go with prince because he is a better all around player. Carmelo is mainly a scrorer and thats it.
But Carmelo is the guy who shot 28.9% in the playoff, and struggled to shoot over 40% in the regular season.
hasn't stopped the rockets from building on their ''Franchise"... and i wouldn't take prince over francis either. having said that, prince is my favorite player in the finals right now...he's scrappy as hell.
He seems to bring I like Prince alot .. . HE has shown me something His moves to the basket. . . If his shot got a little more consistant. . . I think I would take him over melo Rocket River Prince is playing some nice D
For this Piston team this year, I'd take Prince without hesitation. Anthony is a better offensive player, but not enough to offset Prince's defense. At least not now. Especially not in this series. Down the road, I don't know. Horry seems like a good comparison for Prince. Anthony is harder to peg. Some have suggested Big Dog. I would take Horry over Big Dog (even though Robinson is more of a star). Then again, maybe Carmelo turns into Larry Bird. For now, Joe Dumars is looking pretty damn smart.
Since they are both rookies, how they will turn out is still up in the air. At this point, Anthony seems to have better upside. He's a potential superstar. Prince is a nice all-around guy, but doesn't seem to be talented enough to take over a team. I'd still pick Anthony over Prince. But I might change my mind two years down the road.
I don't think Prince is a rookie. I thought he was with the Pistons last year too. I watched a few of his games when he was in college, and he seemed to have great range, post moves, and good ball-handling skills. Horry never could handle the ball like Prince. In the brief time I've seen him in the NBA, I thought he had loads of talent, but not enough aggressiveness/assertiveness. However, I haven't been able to catch any of his games this season.
Prince is not a rookie, came out same draft as Yao and stepped it up in last year's playoffs where he first became a fan favorite. That's why they were not taking Anthony, because Prince played well enough in the playoffs to show that he is their SF for the future. I'd take Prince over Anthony simply because Anthony is one-dimensional.
If you’re building a team, Melo is the choice. But on a team that already has established stars (like Detroit), I might lean towards Prince. Sometimes it’s tougher to find a really great role player like Prince then it is to find a scorer like Melo.
