Melo, he gave up too soon. He just had to hold on a little longer and Knicks would have caved. I guess he didn't want to go through camp at all but he had waited 2 months, he should have known the Knicks would have required more pressure to cave.
Melo caved. Which is his right but there was no point in this whole saga if you aren't willing to use your leverage. #DeadLinesMakeDeals
To be fair, though. Without Anderson we don't win 55 games last year and finish 3rd in the west. Which also means we likely do not get CP3 and without him no Melo for sure, either. It sucks that we overpaid him, but we desperately needed three point shooting last year.
*shrug* To some extent, it's Perry for not weighing all offers dispassionately. The reported price demanded of us of Ariza and Gordon was much, much higher than the offer they ended up accepting. The final trade was only a tiny bit more valuable than our package, nothing that couldn't have been smoothed over by tossing around a first rounder or an Onuaku. But obviously this wouldn't have happened without Carmelo's agreement.
To answer troll OP, where is Toyota Center in the options? The continued pussyfication of Ryan Anderson by t he Toyota Center experience is to blame for losing Melo
SMH Take off your homer glasses. If you were Perry would you take Ryan Anderson? Gordon/Ariza was the only other way to get the deal done. Give Perry credit Kanter/McDermott was better than Gordon/Ariza. Both on shorter contracts, younger and arguably better. Morey just ****ed up.
