I know car salesman are really bad too, but I had to go with the lawyer. That is what the b*stard is paid to do.
It`s a toss up between "car repair" and "car salesman". Every time I deal with one or the other I feel like I was taken advantage of........and not in a good way either
Not because I am a lawyer (I am usually ready to bash that profession) but I think car repair and car sales people (and computer sales and computer repair people) are worse.
But their job isn't to lie, their job is to win the case for their client. Most of the times, if you don't like the other side, it's not because of the lawyer.
Depends on what computer people you're talking about . . . if you are talking about Best Buy and CompUSA, then sure they are dishonest . . . but really more because they don't know that they're talking about But most of the computer repair people I know (including myself) are as honest as you'll find in any repair industry. The thing is that the person who's getting the computer fixed usually doesn't know ANYTHING about the computer, so it sounds strange to them when you say something like "I needed to change out your motherboard, RAM and processor because the processor overheated and caused all of those items to burn out as well . . . that'll be $300"
But most of the time, attorneys are going by what their clients tell them, they can't be blamed for lies that are passed on to them.
C'mon Rocketman. Lawyers will do what they have to in order to win. They know what to tell their clients to say, and they know how to win. That's why you get a lawyer to defend you. I'm not saying all lawyers are liars, but most will conveniently leave out info that does not serve their purpose. Most lawyers know the truth in most cases.
Six. I've been the one pressing charges most of the time...Against drunk drivers, terroristic threats, family law. My ex wifes lawyer was by far the biggest liar of the bunch. He lied to me, he lied to the judge, he signed papers that were not true...no problem...my current lawyer has caught all of these lies, her lawyer may just be disbarred.
You're right Falcon, and it seems that the lawyers in divorce proceedings are pretty bad (both of my sisters have been through rough ones with bad lawyers), but again, I think a lot has to do with what they're being fed. To me lawyers get a bad rap like cops do-a few of them ruin the reputation for the rest of them, but when you need them, you'll call!
