Harden for sure. Howard if he resigns. Jones if he becomes an all star and stays here. Same with Motiejunas kinda. Not ariza. They'd give that number to McGrady before they'd give it to Ariza. Not smith. Not terry.

    First off, wtf is this?

Secondly, the only player who really is even remotely close is Harden. Howard has been injured too much and hasn't done anything to get his number retired by us. Harden and Howard need to bring us to the promised land or very close to it multiple times. Howard would have to win Finals MVP and put up crazy numbers (like he is right now) for him to be in the convo. He's known for his Orlando playing days more than here, so He'd probably get retired there.

He's not on this team. This team advanced in the playoffs.

When Dream led the Rockets over the Lakers in 85, you already knew he would get his number retired.

it's a battle between James Harden and Jason Terry.

Both of them have lit up Toyota Center with their shooting

If they win a title, then Harden and Howard for sure. If they don't, then Harden still has a good shot if he has another 3-4 seasons like this in a Rockets uniform.

    This is a weird thread.

If any recent Rocket gets their number retired by the team it would be Yao, TMac, and Battier in that order. If Harden wins a championship for us and/or remains on the team for the next 5-8 years and plays at the same level--then Harden also might.

I still don't get why Yao Ming's number would be retired. For what? He led the team one time to the 2nd round and then a Game 1 upset at the Lakers. He was a terrific player for the franchise when healthy, but ultimately he didn't really accomplish much. Frankly if we're gonna retire the #11 jersey, I'd rather have the name Maxwell in the rafters before Yao.

    lol wat

I would already place Harden ahead of those 3 players with another couple similar years

    Those 3 won nothing

Should've been a multiple choice poll. If one guys number gets retired, it's not like another guy can't get his number retired too.

That said, Harden is really the only option. Maybe Dwight too if he stays for 5-6 more years, stays productive, and wins a ring or two.

Only superstars deserve to have their jerseys retired by a franchise IMO.

Yao deserves it for his great contributions at the end of his career IMO. It wasn't his fault that he got injured so often. He always fought back. McGrady and Battier do not deserve this honor IMO.

And for the record, I am not a McGrady hater by any means. A couple of deep playoff runs led by Harden will cement his status as one of the best Rockets IMO.

People probably think the poll is about who will retire, not whose number will be retired.

I can see Harden for sure. Howard only if he resigns and we win at least one championship with him.
