Thread inspired by a typical revisionist BSPN article saying MDA should be disqualified from COTY contention because: "the Houston Rockets' Mike D'Antoni and the Golden State Warriors' Steve Kerr, shouldn't even get much consideration. Each simply had "too good" a roster with which to work." http://www.espn.com.au/nba/story/_/id/23014370/top-five-contenders-nba-coach-year-plus-our-pick Funny how they lump us with Golden State, when we have all of one all-star, and were predicting doomsday when CP3 came. Anyway, besides Jim's MVP, what awards do we have a chance in (including all-NBA teams)? I'd say MDA's COTY last year might be a factor in them voting for someone else...
I think Oladipo gets MIP, Brad Stevens gets COY. I think EGo will get votes for 6th man but wont win. Maybe we get a player on the All Defense team
coach of the year is brad stevens and nobody else but brad stevens. harden got MVP locked up. tucker should def be in consideration from some type of defensive honor. at least defensive 3rd team. i feel like oladipo is the runaway favorite for MIP. gordon probably started too many games to get 6th man again. dorrell murray should def be GM of the year for making the rockets deeper after the media said the rockets "gutted" their bench to sign cp3.
I think we'd get more respect if we had more fanatical fans who would send them pieces of **** wrapped in their own paper. How do you think Boston teams are lapped up by the media? Love letters?
capela-most improved player gordon-6th man thicc-all defense harden and cp-all nba morey-executive of the year
All your awards are belong to us MVP - James Harden 6MOY - Eric G Most Improved - Clint Capela COY - Mike AntoniO Exec of the Year - Daryl triple chinned Maury Defensive player of the year - CP3 Head trainer of the year - Keith greasy Jones
so nobody is going to mention dwayne casey for coy? interesting, aren't a ton of people around here calling toronto "for real" and "ignored"
3rd seed, yes... But their likely win total of 50 or 51 would be the worst for a "3rd best in the West" team in 31 seasons. Traditionally speaking, their record is more like that of a 5th or 6th seed. Still good relative to expectations, but not exactly mind blowing. They've been relatively healthy compared to other teams, too.
Yes, Morey is the best this season. Without any star-level rookie contracts or make-sense rookie contracts, Morey will be the worst starting from next season. Do you know how much cash loss will be? All time nba record in cash loss? What if Rockets spend 180 million next year, then one starter is injured? First round exit? Cash loss.

Have to agree with you. I know the East is weak, but the Celtics have had an unreal number of injuries this year. To be squarely in 2nd place after all that is amazing. He's really gotten the most out of his young players this season, and it makes a healthy Celtics team very scary in the near future.
Harden All-NBA First team for sure, probably with Derozan. Second team will probably be Westbrook and Curry, meaning Paul might have a chance to make the All-NBA third team. For All-Defensive teams, I can see Tucker, Paul, or maybe even Harden making the second team, but also wouldn't be surprised if they all missed out. They'll probably get some votes though. Oladipo has MIP on lock, so Capela probably won't get it. Only big award I see us getting is MVP, and possibly Executive of the Year for Morey.
he doesn’t deserve it over Brad Stevens...Toronto has improved, but they will get bounced out of the playoffs by Lebron like they always do
