Conference semifinal is absolutely not acceptable! At least conference final!

I voted Conference Finals, but then again, the odds of that happening aren't good considering the Rockets will likely finish 4th or 5th and the Spurs could be the top seed in the West. Damn, I hate the new alignment with 3 divisions.

If we can stay competitive with the Spurs in the second round I'll say this season was a success. There'd be no shame in losing to those guys. I'd be dissapointed, but I couldn't call the season a failure...

That's a good point. The Rockets are almost guaranteed a second round meeting with the Spurs, no matter what. If the Rockets win the division, the Spurs are 4th seed, and vice versa. If we're 5th seed, we beat out 4th seed and still face the Spurs.

Guess the title will be decided in the 2nd round this season.

    :)

Getting Skip at PG may have solved the Rockets last big weakness. Only time will tell. This team has the talent to challenge the Spurs this year, but what they need is time to gel together. The Rockets will have most of their starters from last year back so they shouldn't get off to a slow start like last year.

If we did manage to get past the spurs in round 2, then we sure as hell better get to the finals.

Yes...1 and 4, 2 and 3...there is a flaw there being that out of the 3 division leaders...the top division would play the non-division winner regardless if the other division just sucks @ss...they need to change the ruling...maybe after the first round the teams are reseeded by record? :D

it's either the 2nd round or the nba finals since we are likely to face the spurs in the 2nd round.

If we have to lose, losing to Spurs is the only acceptable result. As long as we stay competitive when facing the defending Champ, I won't call it failure. Anything else short of Confenrence final will diappoint me.

looking at how the seeding goes if we end up with the second best record in the divison behind the spurs, we get the 4 seed and the spurs are the 1 seed so we meet in the second round. so if we advance to the conference finals chances are we are going to win the whole darned thing cause we already knocked off the champs

Too slow. With that pace Tmac and Yao may not have enough time to get 5 rings before they retire.

Oh three rings like Larry Bird did is plenty for my taste. ;)
