I think this season has been a success. They had one of the best regular seasons in rockets history. They got out of the first round. Even the spurs didn't get out. They have provided a pretty entertaining postseason. They play an entertaining style of ball (No JVG Ball). To people who criticize McHale, how many coaches would bench their superstar in the 4th quarter of the most pivotal game of the season. To People who criticize Morey, Brewer and jsmoove are the only reason why we have a chance for a game 7. Both were midseason pick ups. All in all it was a good season given the expectations people had going in. Hopefully we make to WCF, but even if they don't lets appreciate what they did this season.
I will feel a lot better about this year (compared to last) for sure. I am greedy now though, I want basketball in June!
Yea. Been a decent season. Game 5 and 6 pretty much sealed that. I say that because we have Overcome some odds. We lost youth defense in Patrick. We also lost our most efficient low post threat as well. That is quite a bit to have to absorb. Oh and D12 for half the season. We all forget about our losses yet we posted 56. It was a good season. Now. If we get blown out today that will taint it a bit in my opinion. But lose by 2 or 3? Heartbreaking but I applaud them for sitting up out of their coffin after game 4.
Sort of agree. I believe we should win this series, especially since we laid an egg game 1 with no CP3. But I think Warriros we'll be underdogs against.
I appreciate positive thinking and all and hedging your bets, but I can't get behind this at all. Remember when we signed Dwight? Were the expectations back then "Hey, maybe we can get a second round exit?" . Sure, if you rewind to your feelings post-game 4, then this right now feels pretty good. But it's year 2 of Dwight/Harden. Dwight's not gonna be elite for that much longer. No one remembers a 2nd round exit.
I will. Not every team gets to win a championship. Think about how many superstars there are in the league. There is still only one champion every year. Sure, I hope to hell they advance this year, but I'm not going to trash the team if they don't. Think about it, this team has already outperformed the entire Yao-McGgrady era. I certainly hope they keep going, but I will have fond memories of this season no matter what happens today.
One of the Yao-Mcgrady teams also got a a game 7 in the 2nd round, albeit with both of those guys hurt. Given their relative health compared to Yao-McGrady and much better depth, this team absolutely should be outperforming those teams. I'm not saying you have to "trash" them if they lose, but I don't consider it a success just for getting to round 2.
I'm still up in the air about this simply because the players, coaches and the whole organization has been preaching championships. We can beat this Clippers team at home as long as we're focus, making shots and controlling our turnovers. After not coming out with a killer instinct in game 1 and just not competing in game 3 & 4, if THAT teams shows up and it's a blowout, i have to admit I'll be upset. As far as the whole season goes, I'm OK with it but like everyone else.......I WANT THIS GAME!!!!!!!
No matter what happens, I think it was successful, but I hope Morey starts looking for another PG. We need someone who can take some of the playmaking requirements away from Harden. Harden can't be our only playmaker if we are going to look for big improvements next year.
