I've always thought you could make a case for him as the third best SG in the league behind Kobe and Wade. Thoughts?

Depends. If last year is who he is going to be, there's an argument he is the best in the league. Those shooting numbers were ridiculous.

Wade, Kobe, Manu are better imo. Joe Johnson is comparable.
I'd place him above Iguodala and Eric Gordon though, although Gordon is comparable when healthy.

Overall, you could make a strong case that Harden is the best SG under 30.

but not defensively. Manu is still much better in that regard. But Harden overall is much better than Manu was at 23.

    He's definitely top 5:

    1. Kobe
    2. Wade
    3. Ginobili
    4. Harden
    5. Joe Johnson

I'm user Eric Gordon should be up there somewhere, but have yet to see him in playoffs.

Iguodala is not a shooting guard.

he's both. he will be a shooting guard in Denver.
He used to bea shooting guard in Philly early on as well, but they've been loaded with little guys lately.

before he was a rocket, top 3. now that we acquire him, he is lucky to be the 13th best sg. it's the hater way.

for me, it is..kobe, wade and Harden.

After three more seasons Harden will be 26, Kobe will be out of the league and Dwayne Wade will be 33.

    Future top 2 SG!

Well just look at all the top sgs in the list:

    1. Kobe
    2. Wade
    3. Manu
    4. Harden
    5. Iggy
    6. Eric Gordon
    7. Ray Allen
    8. Kmart

Well we can glean two things from that list: Shabazz Muhammed will be a star the moment he comes in, and the top 3 SGs are pretty much old/injured and on the decline. Kobe's talking about retiring 2 years from now, and Manu/Wade have been battling serious injuries the past couple of years. If you cross all of them out, Harden's the best SG in the league right now, bar none. Also Harden's only 23 years old...5 years from now he'll only be entering his prime.

    Top 1-2 Kobe & Wade
    Top 3-4 Manu & Harden
    5th Joe Johnson

Considering Harden is 23 while the rest are 33 and up it looks good for the Rockets.

He is young and a big impact player. He is worth more than just his rank, I think.
