Hey everyone! First off, just wanted to say this is my first time posting to this board, thanks for having me. Also, I was wondering if there was someone I could get in contact with or if anyone here knows where I can send merchandise to be signed?

My wife surprised me by taking me to the Astros Orioles game on May 26th in Baltimore. I've been a die hard Astros fan since childhood. We had first row, 3rd base line seats 4 seats away from the Astros dugout! (SO AWESOME!:eek:) During the game, 4th inning I believe, Preston Tucker made a great catch in the outfield that ended the inning.

As they were running back I yelled out to Preston "Good catch Preston! Nice defense!" and he threw me the ball! I immediately gave it to my wife because she said all she wanted was to try and get a game used ball for herself.

Needless to say it made her night and she is now, and will hopefully, forever be an Astros fan. I was wondering if I could send the ball to the organization and get Tucker to sign it as a surprise. I know it would make that trip even more special than it already was.

    TIA and Go Astros!

I don't think that's something the organization would be involved in.

Your best bet would be to contact Tucker on Twitter. Most players have a mailing address that you can send baseball cards and the like to, but they might not be willing to do it with larger items.

Just send Tucker a message and mention that you'd pay the return postage. Otherwise you may have to wait for the Astros to return to the park.

Actually teams did have an address for that sort of thing and I assume they still do. I got lots of stuff signed as a kid by sending it to thru the team. You can check the teams website or do a google search. The thing to remember is you will need to make sure any shipping fees are paid for both ways. We used to send SASE's in our original envelopes when we got cards signed. I would suggest shipping there in a larger box and including a smaller pre addressed pre paid box for the return.

Here I did the search for you:

Honestly, if the ball has personal significance, your best bet is to show up early for a home game and have him sign it. Better if you guys have a young kid - players are a LOT more receptive to signing things for young kids. At the same time, young kids suck:

Not if you live in Baltimore. I'm guessing that trip is not quite as convenient. Personally I would attempt to contact him thru Twitter and if that failed I'd try the address above. I've had success sending things in. It did take a while sometimes though.
