You'd think our former defensive minded assistant coach would implement a defensive identity. But the whole team is already 3 years backwards on all aspects. Spurs game showed what could happen if the rockets played consistent D. What's our identity? Should the rox just try to outscore with our weapons of harden, dmo, Lawson, and howard? Should the team get back to a shutdown defensive team led by Ariza, Howard, and Bev? It looks like we're just a street ball team with a bunch of inconsistent players and a coach that changes players too much. I really think if coach defines what the identity of this team is, he could lead better. We know what kind of identity Pop, Jackson, Sloan, or even Rudy T would do if they were our coaches. I just don't think it's ever been clear on what our identity is addressed by coach B. thoughts?
in my mind that is the way this current rockets team has always been since mchale took over the hc gig. the only difference was the willingness and effort level on defense. as a result, our only noticeable identity has been - "inconsistency".
At least last years team was a defensive minded team, but with Harden's iso and throwing the ball until we get open 3's. I have to agree now. It's painful to watch when we're all thinking how great the spurs game was yesterday and then today losing.
bev making a couple 3's and then trotting downcourt with the cooking meme -- that's this team's ridiculous and oblivious identity in a nutshell
you know I thought the same thing when I saw that tonight. too much posturing, too much cool. really good point.
you know, it's the old "when you get to the end zone, act like you've been there before" point. Act like a professional.
Our identity: self entitled arrogant lazy who only show up for the big games and think they can sleep walk to the ecf without earning it.
We are a team that's about to be broken up and will be pointed to as a cautionary tale by GMs for years to come. I think this is who we really are. It's the good games that are flukes because guys don't want to act professional in every game. We keep reverting to our dark side.
