I feel like Carl Herrera has just never recovered from the devastating loss of Patrick Patterson. He used to be one of the funniest posters on this board. I would click on his threads expecting to laugh! Now he is a constant source of negativity. Get help, Carl. Life is good!

p.s. can you guys believe that Marcus "Busty" Morris ended up having a much better career than Patrick Patterson?

Yes, because damn near everyone is having a better career than 2Pat.

That's got to make Carl Herrnia very, very sad.

I'm not agreeing with this. Too much PPatt bashing on this BBS solely as backlash for CH annoying everyone. (Well done, Carl, you sucked the PPatt fans right out of the building.)

As the biggest Patrick Patterson fan on the board (I have pictures to prove it; CH only appears that way because he went on a mission to annoy the BBS), I can probably say I've followed his career and Morris' more than most.

I would say they have equal impact. Much of Morris' offensive stats differences was on **** teams, while also landing in a perfect offensive situation last year (Hayward injury to boot), when PPatt made a poor decision to join forces with the Ninja Turtle prior to Melo trade...and the Melo trade just made it worse.

Patterson was a key player on the Raptors for 4 years. Rarely starting, because they loved him off the bench. He fell into that key bench-player role. fwiw: Clearly outplaying James Johnson two years (who we now all want). Better defender than Morris and his offensive numbers are fine, considering Raptors had two all-stars on their team (vs what PHX and DET had). But last year Westbrook buried him, while Morris had a golden opportunity when Hayward got injured. It still says a lot that OKC signed him away from TOR as re-confirmation by Presti ... then later getting Melo and being locked into giving Melo minutes (just because) ... lacking freedom to play anyone who deserves it, which Brad Stevens had and cultivated.

This is trolling to annoy CH, and not the truth.

Just ask 1st Round picks Lamb, DMo, TJones, #BeWell, Dekker, (can we add Thomas Robinson and TWill). We'll be able to include Harrell in that soon, if he doesn't learn to shoot. Montrezl will fall off like Landry did.

The dual irony is: Both Morris and PPatterson are having the best Morey-era Rockets FRP careers (after Capela), when everyone wanted them gone; while the BBS continues to dismiss and underrate PPatt because his "best fan" has created an atmosphere that makes fans want to see him fail.

Busted. Then again, truth takes a backseat when someone is driving the Reverse-Trollmobile on the Carl Herrera Troll Threadway.

To be fair 2Pat's career ain't over yet, just sad how he can't use his old major in college - leadership.

He's been bad and injury prone for years though. Like really, really bad. Marcus Morris is still playing at a high level.

The more likely scenario is we trade Gordon/Capela/Criss/pick for a true superstar at the 3 and less luxury tax and Knight takes Gordon's place in the rotation.

Gordon/Capela/Criss/pick for Butler....for instance....with Minny sending another contract to Sacramento and Sac sending us both back bit players...could almost get us out of the luxury tax altogether. I look for a deal to happen more along these lines later in the season that yields us back a superstar like Butler.....(maybe possibly even Kawhi)...or a youngster like Winslow/Oubre and another contract like Whiteside...while using Sac's cap space as a third team to dump salary.

    You hyperbole much?

He is not injury prone, and "really really bad" is laughable. PPatt was one of the key players off the bench for a legit team for 4 yrs, while Morris was playing for PHX and DET.

Like Tucker, PPatt plays an efficient role. He's a lifetime 52% eFG%, efficiency Morris has never shot in a single season. He's a lifetime 54% TS%, which again Morris has only achieved twice. He's also a better defender and rebounder than Morris.

I'm not saying Morris can't be more efficient like Patterson, just saying his PPG stuff on PHX and DET never made me think more off him than what he did on the Rockets.

PPG when you are playing with no All-Stars is really meaningless. PPatt was on a much better team, who didn't need scoring and asked him to be a 6th man. PPatt (like Tucker) pretty much sticks to only shooting 3s, while Morris (on bad teams) was given the green light to shoot his 42% (.47 eFG%) game on more FGAs...whoopee
