Doesn’t matter. It’s not the Rockets problem.

When Kawhi gets traded, I hope Beadle is the one to read the news.

    Spurs out: kawhi/patty
    Spurs in: Rubio/Marc/Lakers 1st/Utah 1st
Outlook: Spain reunited, this time with pop and lamarcus. Stay competetive andgain assets until pop retires.

    Memphis out: Marc/Conley
    Memphis in: Ball/Ingram/Deng/Burks/patty
Outlook: they actually save 500k in salary. Gain young prospects with potential to add to their top pick this year. Jump starts the rebuild.

Lakers out: Ball/Ingram/Deng/1st (top 1 protected)
    Lakers in: kawhi
Outlook: they get lawgiver, shed dengs contract and acquire an additional 10m in cap space to go after pg13 and another player.

    Utah out: Rubio/Burks/1st (lotto protected)
    Utah in: Conley
Outlook: upgrade from Rubio to Conley and get a better backcourt running mate for Mitchell. Makes the more balanced and dangerous.

the lakers have the most to offer. if pop doesn't want to send him to a western foe they will have to accept a lesser return. the best offer from the east will be the sixers unless lebron goes there then the best offer comes from the celtics.

Here are some hypothetical, completely made-up trade scenarios the Spurs could explore. Remember, unlike Las Vegas gambling odds, these are for entertainment purposes only:

    Rebooting The Process

Spurs get: Markelle Fultz, Dario Saric, Jarryd Bayless and a first-round pick.
    Philadelphia gets: Kawhi Leonard

    [...]

    Bovada odds: 9/2.

    Send him home, Part I

Spurs get: Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Luol Deng and a first-round pick.
    L.A. Lakers get: Kawhi Leonard.

    [...]

    Bovada odds: 13/2.

    Send him home, Part II

Spurs get: Tobias Harris, Patrick Beverley and two first-round picks.
    L.A. Clippers get: Kawhi Leonard.

    [...]

    Bovada odds: 7/1.

    Beantown Swap Meet

Spurs get: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Greg Monroe and a first-round pick.
    Boston gets: Kawhi Leonard.

    [...]

    Bovada odds: 11/1.

From a Rockets standpoint, I hate that Boston deal. Tatum and Brown would be nice pieces to build around and if that 1st pick is the Brooklyn pick...:(

Not sure how it would affect Boston, they’d have three solid, but very brittle all-stars to build around.

I dont see Boston trading both Tatum and Brown and also a 1st, one of them (players), sure, both? Nah.

Not sure how this won't turn into a buyer's market for Leonard. It appears that he's burned too many bridges in San Antonio to be welcomed back with open arms.

Pretty sure we could pick him up for Tarik Black and a fourth rounder.

When he is 38 years old. Pop won't trade him here. Siberia yes, Houston no.

BS: What team is Kawhi on next year if you had to guess?

ZL: No matter what you say, they'll write a blog post. If I had to guess, I would guess one of the Los Angeles teams.

    BS: Me too.

ZL: Should I make clear I don't feel great about that guess? It very well could be the Spurs.

BS: I would bet on the Clippers, Lakers 2nd choice, Sixers 3rd choice. Could you see a scenario where there's no Kawhi & Pop on the Spurs next year?

ZL: That would shock me, only because Pop is coaching the Olympics & everyone has said to me he'll at least coach the Spurs through then but it's possible he wouldn't.

BS: Is there a better trade on the table for the Spurs than Fultz, Covington, 10th pick & Euro-stash for Kawhi?

ZL: Depends if Brandon Ingram gets involved & whatever else the Lakers can throw in there.

BS: Brandon Ingram & Luol Deng?

ZL: Celtics can beat it. Tatum & Brown have gotten too good. You keep reading proposals like Tatum & 1st round pick, no no no...Tatum for Kawhi straight up, if the Celtics got 100% assurances Kawhi is healthy & 100% assurances he's re-signing, only then would they think about it & they still might not do it.

BS: No. No. No. No. No. Zach no. Zach stop. Tatum is untouchable. He's untouchable.

ZL: It could be that simple now.

BS: There's three guys you have the conversation for: Giannis, Anthony Davis & God. Those are the three. That's it. The Lakers call OKC & say you guys are screwed. You aren't winning a title with Westbrook. We'll trade you Lonzo & Luol for Westbrook, Paul George is leaving & you can start the rebuild. What does OKC do?

ZL: They say no but secretly think about it harder than they ever let on.

BS: They have a way longer meeting than OKC fans would guess, right?

ZL: Don't think it's that long. Still think it's a hard no but there's at least one person in the front office who is pro. They would not do that.

BS: This summer has the most potential for a crazy trade that we've had in any summer this decade. O/U on crazy trades is 1 1/2.

ZL: Over. This summer is gonna be crazy. Season will end, draft will be X days away, FA will take forever because of LeBron & there will be crazy subplots I don't even get to write about...

BS: Philly, Clippers, Spurs, Lakers, maybe the Celtics, who else?

    ZL: DeMarcus Cousins, the Blazers...

    BS: Who would you keep?

    ZL: Lillard.

BS: I think McCollum is my favorite random trade piece that's probably out there this summer. I'd love to see him...if the Sixers, and Fultz doesn't make sense for Portland, if the Sixers wanted to add someone who could really thrive with Simmons & Embiid, McCollum is way up there.

ZL: The Pistons. Charlotte. What is their way out of this hellish 5-10 year outlook? Stuff we also don't see coming. What will Dallas do?

BS: Dallas has the most lottery karma heading into the lottery. They won the title, tried to spend money to stay relevant & this was the first year they embraced tanking & Carlisle hated it so much I think he probably started chain-smoking cigarettes & drinking bourbon at night. He's against tanking.

ZL: I hate to point out some other things may hurt their karma with the lottery.

BS: I didn't think of that. Great point. I'm out. I rescind the statement. That's my bad. Detroit, SVG/Blake was a hail mary. That's a trade we've seen over & over again, the guy on the way out, you do the hail mary for the superstar.

ZL: Everyone wanted to do it. SVG in February, it's not as if the powers that be there did not know SVG not being on the team next year was a possibility. Everyone was on board with that trade.

BS: With the Clippers, they have 12 & 13, movable contracts, that trade could be remembered as one of the better ones this decade if they can figure out a new plan & put it in place. Blake was someone I thought was the 3rd best player in the league at the end of the 2015 playoffs. I really did. You hit an injury point and once you're past that point, it's hard. He hasn't been that guy in 3 years now. Should we form a consulting committee for these teams?

ZL: You know my idea for the biggest scam in sports, if you want to get in with me & Windhorst, we want to start a search firm teams pay when hiring a GM/Coach. [...] I'm gonna do that.

BS: I have a lot of thoughts on that. On the Knicks, you mentioned the Hornets, I asked Jason Concepcion(diehard Knicks fan traumatized at this point), what franchise he wouldn't want to switch places with. You can keep the Knicks or switch places with another franchise. Which one would you NOT want to do? Only ones were Brooklyn & Charlotte & maybe Detroit.

    ZL: Orlando?

BS: Orlando has a lottery pick & cap space. That Charlotte situation, you look at their salaries. OH MY GOD?! What's happened? Nic Batum will be making $26M. I thought he's the one I would have traded for if I was the Cavs.
