I leave for 5 days to go to Portland in search of Pippen to give him the "what for" on behalf of the entire board, only to come back and find you guys managed a bloody flame war without me. In the spirit of the cc.net motto: "Loud, Proud, and Original"... "your mean" But I didn't come back empty handed...I have some hysterical histrionics of my own to show you...Warning: this surviving copy may be deleted after a few hours. <A HREF="http://www.artmovement.com/images/wassup.swf">More Histrionics--True True</A> [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited May 01, 2000).]
HP, Welcome back. You should have been there. It was a classic. It's pretty much over now... LOL! That was pretty cool. I read about it on MrShowbiz.com and it stated that geocities had deleted it. ------------------ Nederland 2000 NBA+stupidity=Brand ROY NBA+common sense=Franchise MVP Houston Rockets Space Center- Not just another ClutchCity.NET clone. Damn, they move pretty fast...the clip is gone! Anyway, I thought the use of such images would be permitted. Legal experts, care to comment? ------------------ Nederland 2000 NBA+stupidity=Brand ROY NBA+common sense=Franchise MVP Houston Rockets Space Center- Not just another ClutchCity.NET clone. Normally, those images are property of the news organization whose photographer took them. For instance, the Elian photo is an Associated Press photo and belongs to them. If you use it without their permission and that of the photagrapher and they find it objectionable, you could be in deep Doo Doo. ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com
This one is still up: http://andrewcady.dhs.org/~pusher/elian.swf It's saved to my HD so I can post it if it gets taken off of there. ------------------ ~John~ If you make it idiot proof, they will make a better idiot. Houston NHL
I also put it up on my webpage. I also, have a zip file on there where you can get the SWF file and the HTML File to go with it. http://bayoucitybob.home.icq.com/index.html The link is right on the front. So, tell me Jeff. What is the difference between Monty Python collage art and this. Couldn't an artist claim this as art? Just found out that the API has backed off their claim on this file. It is free to be passed around. They were never going to be able to sue anyone. This is reality as art in my book. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited May 01, 2000).]
Art? Why art? What about *parody*? It is protected, ya know, and I think this should easily qualify as such. Lord Tree ------------------
