Assuming we don't get either CP or Dwight, what's the plan?

    Here's mine:

    1. Pickup Blatche for starting PF (3.5 mill for 3yrs)
    2. Trade TRob and 2nd rounder for top 22 pick.
    3. Draft Glen Rice Jr. (backup sg)
    4. Steal Tyreke from Sacramento to play PG. (11 mill per)
    5. Pickup Corey Brewer for backup SF. (3.75 mill per)

    Next year's roster:

    Starters:

    1. Tyreke - pg
    2. Harden - sg
    3. Parsons - sf
    4. Blatche - pf
    5. Omer - c

    Bench:

    1. JLin - pg
    2. Rice - sg
    3. Brewer - sf
    4. Jones - pf
    5. Smith - c

    Remainder:

    1. Beverley
    2. Anderson
    3. Dmo
    4. Garcia
    5. White

This is a very good team imho.

    Plan B.

Stand pat and go into 2014 with the same flexibility.

Plan B for me involves waiting another year (or towards the end of the year) and going for superstars who free up then.

2014 includes guys like Parker, Paul George, Miami's Big 3, Zach Randolph, Garnett, Gortat, Cousins etc.

In the meantime, Morey continues to stockpile and trade for better assets.

I hear Plan B has certain side effects on health. Vomiting and explosive diarrhea to name a couple.

Anything other than possibly acquiring Pau Gasol should get an F. There is absolutely no reason to hinder our cap flexibility if we are not going to get Dwight Howard and/or Chris Paul. Gasol will help us both on the court and off the court, with his post presence, and cap friendly contract.

How do you trade for Gasol and keep Asik? You'd have to trade Lin and everything worthwhile on our bench. That still probably wouldn't do it.

Blatche had an awesome PER this season and should score around 18/8 with starter minutes (he had 10.3/5.1 with 19m).

Tyreke is still young, is an upgrade to Lin, can play multiple positions and is coming off his best season with respect to TS%, eFG%, PER, and TOV%.

Corey Brewer was a 6th man of the year candidate last season.

Glen Rice Jr was dleague finals mvp. He shot 38% 3pt, 6.6 rbs and had a 40.5 max vert. Dleague is a slightly higher level of competition than college.

Additionally, JLin would be more effective coming off the bench since he doesn't have to be a spot up shooter for Harden.

I think both starters and bench receive an upgrade with this plan. It's at least a B!!! ;)

We don't have much worthwhile on our bench...and that includes Lin.

Please don't go by just stats. Blatche and reke are not good basketball players, they are blackholes on offense. Getting rid of them is addition by subtraction.

I do like brewer, but he will be too expensive for my taste

Obviously they are not bringing back Garcia, Anderson and White looks like a long shot as well. They will probably just keep White in the D-League till his contract is up.

I say they need to go after either Korver, or Allen or both. Brewer is a pretty good perimeter defender so I wouldn't mind getting him. I say no to Tyreke as PG cause he seems to me to be a score first PG, although he could back-up Harden at the 2 spot.

I definitely think we need to draft a SG/SF and Rice seems like the best candidate next to Green and Snell.

I dont really know much about Blatche's game so I dont really have an opinion on that. But I would probably try and get Millsap over Blatche, just because I have seen Millsap play more and he looks to me like a more solid and consistent player.

I like Blatche but the rest is a lot of why.
If Howard or CP3 are not coming then why trade away Robinson for so little - just keep him and see what happens.
If G. Rice Jr falls to use - Pick him up and never look back but traded trade up for him, no thanks.
Tyreke needs the ball BUT so does Harden - not a good fit - even worst than Lin PLUS the cap space, too.
Brewer is not known as three point shooter (spacing) and 3.75 mill per for a back up - T. Jones is already here on a rookie contract. Plus Anderson needs some playing time, too - less than 1M year
Garcia as thrird string player is a lot cap space for not much return.
Lin make 8+M a year - starter's money for 6th man (not good use of cap space)

    Plan B
-Pick up Blatche - back up center / starting power forward if Jones/Robinson
-Find a way to part ways with White - One of Cav's 2nd round picks for White plus the money to buy him out.
-Let the coaching staff learn to trust the bench - rest Harden little more
-Move D-Mo and Greg Smith for a 3 point shooting / scoring wing on a rookie contract - Jordan Hamilton OR MarShon Brooks(nice fit with KMH coaching or lack there of)OR fill in the blank
-Timmy O should get some playing time and will be this year's DMtheGM's gift to us ;-).
-WAIT FOR THE SPLASH - mid season

Plan B is to sit tight, maybe sign a cheap wing defender if available. Pick up Gasol only if amnestied....no trade.
