That would be the West Park tollroad. I believe it will be going from Hwy 6 or Beltway 8 to the Loop.

 

I'm assuming you are talking about the New Westpark Freeway. It runs from 610 to Hwy 6 when it is finished.

 

Are you sure it will be a Toll road? I heard otherwise. And it will go all the way to 610.

I will NEVER use toll roads. They urk everything I feel about taxation.

That really ticks me off. I was really looking forward to using that.

You only have to pay if you want to use them. That is the way it should be... Tax ONLY those who will benefit.

 

Not if you're the one who has to deal with the horrific construction the two years prior, IMO.

 

They are also in the process of attempting to approve another toll road that will cut thru from Bellaire area to the east loop. People in Bellaire are livid.

 

Bellaire to the East Loop (610 East...right?)? That sounds crazy.

 

I grew up in Bellaire, and lived there when I was married.

I had a problem with the Bellaire people, but they were able to boycott billboards there, as well as a Bellaire High School Parking garage across the street from the school.

And a toll road through Bellaire will never happen. Believe me.

 

LOL, I'd have to agree. I grew up on Jaquet across the street from that park near Elm and 610.

Are you talking about Pittman Park?

I grew up on Bellaire Court (horseshoe street at Bellaire and 610)

And Whipple (horseshoe street between Evergreen and Beechnut on Rice)

You should try driving the east beltway feeder thru Pasadena at 5 in the afternoon. Believe me, it'll make you a toll road user for sure. That's the happiest dollar I spend every time I'm working days.

 

I didn't know it actually had a name, but it's the one right on the 610 feeder between Fornace and Bellaire Blvd. Across the freeway from that Episipal High School.

I use the Hardy Toll road every day to and from work. I will pay with a smile on my face rather than mess with I 45! I get from The Heights to Greenspoint in 15 minutes!

 

Sweet! Just one less car in my way on the Sam so that I can over a 100 MPH and use the EZ tag lane. Have fun in traffic. My sanity means more to me than 1.50 per day.

 

Say what you want about Houston's freeways, but I've driven around in Austin and New Orleans, and I'll take Houston any day over those two cities...
