What parts of another man is it acceptable to express admiration of, without things getting weird?

I compliment my male friends and even random strangers on their good style all the time. I'm not a homo and neither fear being called one for doing that either. It's nicer to hear a compliment from another stylish male than a female in my opinion, because most often the female just says what the guys wants to hear to not hurt his feelings.

Never ever ever compliment a man, ever. You don't give compliments, only advice. You can motivate your son or a nephew or a young teen but another adult male?? On Hair
YES: "Oh, wow, man... it looks like you take care of your hair very well. My compliments, sir."
NO: "Oh, wow, that is BEAUTIFUL hair. I like it."

About a Tie
NO: "I like your tie! I like how good you look with the rest of your outfit!"
YES: "That is a very good looking tie, man. It matches the rest of your ensemble. Well done."

Don't know about directly, but third party you can compliment an athlete or male celebrity's musculature. That's where stuff like "swol" and "**** diesel" comes from.

I think if you're all about to go out or just initially greeting, you can compliment clothes, hair and even cologne; but the last one you quickly follow-up with logistical questions about brand and retailers to depersonalize the compliment.

Work has a lot of inter-generational and cross-cultural interactions that have no real bonds behind them but necessitate warmth and friendliness as those can be materially evaluated as part of performance. Complements about clothing can be taken fairly innocuously in those circumstances, as can those about significant weight loss.

 

I won't lie, I've complimented a number of men's penis. Nothing wrong with admiring another stallion's wood.
