My seniors are working on a few stories from Le Morte D' Arthur. We usually cover the the birth of Arthur, the sword in the stone, the lady of the lake, and the death of Arthur. I wish I had time to cover more medieval romance, but the timeline leaves little wiggle room. I have had to drop Gawain and the Green Knight because of time constrictions.
The kids always enjoy this unit. I have fun with it as well.

Did you guys have to cover any Arthurian stories in Brit Lit when you were in high school? Which was your favorite?

The Once and Future King is awesome they used to read it in high school when I attended.

One of my favorite quotes. Lots of good stuff to pull from here and nowhere near as heady as Malory.

I also enjoyed the stories about Tristram and Galahad personally.

That time Merlin turned him into a squirrel and the girl squirrel fell in love with him but then he turned back into a boy made me sad. :(

    The look on her face....

That sounds interesting. I need to look into that,

I wish we had the time to hit the knights stories. Sadly, the timeline just does not allow.

We only read Canturbury Tales... no Arthurian works sadly. I had to seek them out on my own. I did check out Gawain... very interesting work. Probably the one I would mention as being worth of discussion.
