Couple of local places I stop by on occasion, I usually skip the chains. Although the donut holes at Dunkin aren't bad, 10 for $2.

They're all basically the same to me, but I don't eat doughnuts much.

I also understand there are many Doughnut Snobs.... "My doughnut shop is better than yours" :)

Shipley’s because they have the best Ham and Cheese kolaches and I don’t really like donuts cause they are to sweet.

Duck Donuts near Rice Village. If you have one fresh and hot, it blows every other place out of the park, imo.

Yep, I'm much more of a savory breakfast guy than a sweet one. Though a good cake doughnut does go well with coffee. Can't find a decent kolache (klobasnik) around me, which is pretty ok since I could eat 2 of them every morning.

Yes, a good kolache or cake doughnut are great, I'm glad I don't go often maybe 1/2x a year to a shop thankfully

    Cake donuts suck.

Donut Bar in Vegas is pretty good.

That being said, I'm a small town guy. We have a tiny grocery store in town that has great donuts.

Why do doughnuts taste so good ?

    Because they're cholesterol AND sweetness

Most unhealthy foods taste good, but they're only One or the Other.

Doughnuts offer The Best (or Worst) of Both Worlds.

I get a mini heart attack every time. I also bring an insulin pen.

Not a big doughnut person. I'll eat some Voodoo doughnuts if I'm high because it seems fun at the time.

I remember liking Shipleys as a kid but haven't had it in years. One just opened in Denver this week, so I was gonna make a trip to at least get some Kolaches since only one other place in the state makes them.

Both Ghourdough's and Voodoo in Austin are way too sweet.

They do make tasty looking donuts though.
