I doubt Buhdinger will be in the starting lineup. Budinger though, perhaps.

Barring lockout, my guess to start the season is Hayes at C, Scola at PF, Budinger at SF, Martin, and Lowry.

You just killed the fat lady with the creation of this thread.

This is difficult to discuss right now b/c we have made no changes to the roster, and we know there will be several changes, including the addition of a center somehow and possibly a wing.

i think you'll be sorely disappointed starting two unproven rookies...

my starting 5 doesn't differ from the end of last season's starting 5:

    Lowry
    Martin
    Budinger
    Scola
Hayes (maybe Hill if he's really been working hard)

I agree with you, but you would think if Hill is the starting center, Scola's on his way out. Not enough minutes to go around.

Barring no off-season moves...I think we should go with this.

    PG: Lowry
    SG: Martin
    SF: Morris
    PF: Scola
    C: Thabeet

Yes that's right, start Thabeet. If put in a right situation I think he can produce defensively. Look the guy can block/alter shots and rebound the ball. Which are the basic essentials we need at the center position. He needs to improve in terms of getting out of foul trouble, but that comes with experience, and like McHale said "there's no better teacher then experience!"

As for Morris over Bud, his ability to hit the boards and get physical inside, but still spread the court makes him the ideal three next to Scola and Thabeet.

    Bold, but likely, prediction.

    Center - No One
    Power Forward - No One
    Small Forward - No One
    Shooting Guard - No One
    Point Guard - No One

    :(

This is not an appropriate thread for the Houston Rockets. Out of 15 players, we'll probably change 4 or 5, and not just the guys at the end of the bench.

    But, since I don't want to be called a fraidy-cat, I'll take a shot:

Scola's gone, at least one PG is gone (don't be surprised if Lowry and one of the other two leaves), Hill or Patterson leaves (which depends on the other team, and what they'll give up). Coming back we'll get a marginal center with a decent contract, one pretty good player at a position TBA, and maybe a couple draft choices. Lots of question marks, but here goes:

    1 Lowry
    2 Martin
    3 Iguodala
    4 Patterson
    5 DeAndre Jordan

with a 70% margin of error. It would be easier to pick the top seven players in the draft.

    More likely:

    PG: Lowry
    SG: Martin
    SF: Morris
    PF: Scola
    C: McHale

It would be wonderful to see one of (TWill / Hill / Thabeet) break out. ATST, according to your scenario, what happens to Morris?

I predict that TWill and Thabeet will be gone, and Hill will be a #7 or #8 player for some team - maybe this one, maybe not.

    PG: Lowry/Dragic
    SG: Martin/Lee
    SF: Budinger/Morris/Parsons
    PF: Patterson/Hill/Montiejunas
    C: Jefferson/Hayes/Thabeet

Scola, Flynn, and T-Will for Al Jefferson.

I'd say we win around 38-44 games with that squad.

How do you not bother putting Martin in the lineup? A point, a SF, and 3 PF's? C'mon now.

Anyway, as the roster stands now, the same as last year.

Morris comes of the bench? I dunno, none of us have really seen how well his game will translate in the NBA (same can be said for all upcoming rookies).

God I wish we could flip thabeet and hill for something and keep squid. The dude is like a mini-lebron. (you know what I mean) He’s an awesome iso player and even a better playmaker, but he’s a black hole w/ the ball. I think it’s fair to say he’s got the most god given talent out’ve the 3, but it seems like Morris probably has the best head on his shoulders.

Thabeet and Hill look like they have trouble walking and talking at the same time. As for squid, somebody please suspend his twitter account.
