Splatoulis or something like that. It also didn't help that he was an unproven NBA player since Jeff likes proven players. Oh and he likes to give the ball away to the opposite team as charity.

Lampe, a very young player with upside potential, joined the Rockets under Coach JVG and stagnated. He was traded from the Rockets. Possibly he is beginning to mature and has been coach by this time. :p

Hey guys he's from Poland :D I'm also from Poland. :D

As I know he is playing in Russia. But damn he sucks. He's too weak for NBA, so is Marcin Gortat. They suck and even if we sign him he won't play at all.

I play for the same club Maciej played for here in Sweden, it was here he started to play basketball and he did never play any basketball when he he lived in Poland. The cool thing about the 85-team Polisen (the name of the club) was that they've produced the only 2 nba-ballers in Swedens history, Maciej and some other cutie, both of em choose to play for their native country. And yeah, none of em is in the league today, guess it was the greatness of swedish basketball that made them so "succesful"....

    Maciej's a bum!

Haha, that kid is a bum. Okey, it's one thing that he wanted to play for Poland instead of Sweden, even if it was here he learned and started to play basketball...

But to refuse to play for Poland too, that shows how selfcentred he is, that kid is never going to play in the NBA or any big league again, at least not with that attitude..

Guys, as much as he was playing poorly being in NBA, he has become a really good player in arguably one of top 2 leagues in Europe (Russian and Spanish). He won Russian Cup Final MVP and is a star of 2nd best team in the league. I would be much more hesitant to write him off so fast. And on top of that, he is just 23.

    Two things:
1.) European basketball is exactly as good as Americans think. If the best player in Europe, Luis Scola, was a superstar in the NBA, I'd agree with you. But he's not. He's a role player. He's a very, VERY good role player. But if the best Euro players not in the NBA are NBA-caliber role players, the European leagues DO suck as much as Americans think.
2.) You should PROBABLY delete the comma before "than" in your signature. It's a grammatical abortion.

Here in Poland it is all about hard working, effort. Players don't have it often.

He was the missing link between Frederic Weis and Darko... At least in a lot of Knicks' fans minds some years back. Ultimately a defenseless 'tweener...

Well said, I used to watch Euroleague as often as I could back in the Luis-days. It's a fact that american players who weren't drafted goes to Europe and plays and they are no role players overseas, they are very often the star of the team, like my main man, Anthony Parker and that bum, Langdon.

So yes, you are right, non-american basketball players that don't play in the NBA aren't underrated at all, maybe even overrated.

Abso-freaking-lutely. Europe has some amazing players, but the ones good enough to come to the NBA come to the NBA. That's not a dig at European basketball at all. Look at Manu Ginobli (Viola Reggio Calabria), Pau Gasol (FC Barcelona), and the incredibly underrated Mirsad Türkcan (Efes Pilsen S.K. -- and he HAD to be an All-Star caliber player for the Rockets to pass on Rashard Lewis. Right? Right? I'm not bitter about that at ALL).

But I think the best compliment European basketball ever received was in 1992, when Dream Team coach Chuck Daly said,
"Finally there will come a day -- I'm not saying it will happen anytime soon, mind you, but it's inevitable that it will happen -- that they will be able to compete with us on even terms. And they'll look back on the Dream Team as a landmark event in that process."
