We still have the BAE at roughly 3.5 million and veteran minimums right?

i wouldn't hope for that. i would rather them be used with gordon or ryno to bring back a max salary player like love, millsap, or melo.

at the very least its a lateral move since using our NG contracts to S&T for an MLE guy is still an option. we don't have to do that for tucker to save our MLE. we can S&T them right now for whoever we would've signed if we still had the MLE, plus more since they allow us to take back $11M in salary instead of tucker's $8M.

I love Gordan and the depth he brings but I wouldn't even hesitate if it mention him being included in a trade for Melo

We need nene, for power forward we can keep ryno and sign zach Randolph as backup. For small forward, we can sign rudy gay. I think it is enough to beat warriors

I love the idea of ZBo, but the guy simply isn't a PF on this team. He'd be a center as he just doesn't have the range the Rockets need offensively at the 4. At that PF/C spot, I really like Mo Speights. Defensively, he's really a 5, but offensively you could put him out at the perimeter and let him play more of Anderson's role when Ryno's on the bench at the 4 next to Capela or Nene.

Then they still need one more quality guard. I really like Collison or Afflalo for that spot. Collison could be enticed by playing with Paul again and getting a chance to contend for the first time in his career, but I do think he'll end up making more money going somewhere like New York. However, Afflalo could be had, I feel like. He's made some money in the league already, but he's traditionally always been on mediocre or bad teams. Plus, he's still a remarkable 3-point shooter (shot 41 percent last year) and is at least a competent defender and ball handler.

I think Morey's fallback plan if Melo or Love don't come through the doors is to help Boston get enough cap room if Hayward decides he wants to go to Boston.

Right now, they need about another $10 million in cap room to sign Hayward to the max. Morey can help them out by taking either Bradley's $8 million or Crowder's $6~ million using our NG contracts. Either player would be great for us.
