Looks like we're hosting the party this year... will probably be a small one. A lot of people have conflicts, already had to go back to wherever else they live, etc. There was another party a couple of days ago, probably because of those people's schedules. I want to spend tomorrow preparing some nice snacks, getting drinks, etc. - after all, we consumed a bunch of theirs the other night. Hopefully we get at least some turnout; we'll probably do a bonfire and everybody will probably be freezing their behinds off outside. (I hope I'm wrong here...) Somebody will probably bring fireworks. The usual thing.
We'll be sitting in the nosebleed section since that's all I can afford. I am like a Mexican: I work hard but don't make a lot of money.
Will you be down by the river? Having a small party. Don't want to be on the roads and don't want to pay for babysitter.
3 hours until New Years in Australia. So i'm currently reading 528357923875 posts on Facebook about everyone's great 2012 and the rubbish they accomplished. So I let them all know how my 2012 was. Wishing they'd know I was mocking them. "2012. What a year it's been. The one crush I've had for the past couple of years is now mine. No more teasing. No more pining on my behalf. The honeymoon phase was out of this world. The relationship has had a couple of hiccups but it definitely looks like I've found The One. The next (at least 6 years) are going to be special. I lost one of my best mates to a move to Canada - but it has been somewhat offset by the return home from an old friend from The Big Apple. A shout out has to go to the Windy City for their generosity in a time where my future wasn't so certain. One of the friends made in 2011 - although we haven't known each other for that long - has turned out to be irreplaceable in 2012. Being frugal with my money has reaped immeasurable rewards. Having paid for a couple of expensive assets - I still have the money in the bank to get that one last piece to tie everything together. I'm not sure whether it'll happen in February or after June in 2013 - but it's coming. And I cannot wait for it. So Daryl Morey. This is the first year in 5 years that I haven't had a gig on NYE. Thought about going out but the GF and I will be staying in. Got a bottle of French champagne chilling in the fridge. Gonna get a couple of lobsters, a couple of artichokes, and some other nibbles and we are staying home. Planning on being drunk, naked and in each others arms well before midnight, and probably out cold before midnight as well! :grin:
