i've been watching the nuggets games and i think steve blake would be a good fit on the rockets....he's in the last year of his contract and only gets paid 1.3 million this year. he's got adequate handles, good defense, and a career 37% 3 point shooter. With the wide open shots that he'd get here, he'd probably be 40 percent? I think we should try to get him.. what do you think?

i think he knows his role and doesn't try to play above his head.

From what I have seen, he looks a lot better than Rafer.

If he is good at passing to the inside and can shoot the three and handle the ball. Bring him down here (assuming he is cheap).

He's got a good shot and decent decision making skills. However, I kind of think that if we signed him we would just have 2 backups (him and Rafer). Still, it would be nice to have another servicable PG...but Blake is a bit slow on the defensive end (but he couldn't possibly play worse pick and roll D than Rafer)

I know rafer is a far from perfect PG in a lot of people's minds, but Steve Blake as a starting PG for a REAL championship contender?!?!

Blake is a streaky 3 pt shooter and has rarely shown the ability to make a consistent impact throughout an entire ballgame. I just don't see where it would be worth bringing in someone who isn't going to make any bigger impact than what we already have.

I don't see how Steve Blake is an upgrade over Rafer.

I'll say what I said at the beginning of the playoffs: No team starting Steve Blake will ever do anything in the playoffs. Steve Blake is an 8th-9th man, at best.

He doesnt bring anything that Rafer cant already.

We need less turnovers, better defense, and consistent shooting. I think Tyronn Lue fits the bill.

Im also high on Nocioni and McDyess.

I 'm a big Blake fan. I was studying in Maryland during the terps title run.
I 'd very much like signing him as a backup but he's no better than Rafer.

    1. He's never been a good outside shooter. = Rafer.
    2. He always has TO issue. < Rafer.
    3. His dribble is not as good. < Rafer.
    4. His penertration is just as bad. = Rafer.
    5. Excellent vision and PG skill. = Rafer.
    6. Subpar defender, taller but slower = Rafer.

If you think Rafer is suspect. Take a look at some those bricks Blake threw up during the game. I also question his shot selection and decision making. Basically he's a younger version of Rafer at the point.

He's definite upgrade over Luther and JLIII (who's Dad got him a 3 year deal).
