    A few weeks a go I was craving a prime rib and went to Taste of Texas. Probably the best prime rib I’ve ever had. I’ve heard there are even better steakhouses, thoughts?

    steakhouses are for old people. Try an old folks home, they probably know best

    I like Pappas Steakhouse the most but there are other solid choices in town such as Brenners or Vic and Anthony's.

    Dunno if it's still there, talk to @MadMax, but Lynn's on Dairy Ashford is an old-school proper steakhouse with a great wine list, been there for 30 years or so. That's was my dad's place on that side of town after Beef and Bird closed.

    Brennan's on Memorial Dr. I'm sure there are new places.

    Never been to Taste of Texas, for personal reasons, but I've heard it's ok.

    Interesting that’s pappas seems to be popular I’ve never been but I recently went to Pappas Bar-B-Q for the first time and I got to say it was one of the worst eating experiences of my life... I hated the line to get your food like an elementary school cafeteria. And since there are no servers I had to get up from my meal about 4 times to get ketchup and napkins and stuff. So I would hope their steakhouse has a different vibe.

    That’s like saying you don’t like Italian food because you aren’t a fan of Olive Garden. Two very different things.

    They share the name but they're not alike. Pappas steakhouse is one of the best restaurants in town, Pappas BBQ is one of the worst. No comparison.

    Pappas Bros Steakhouse is the best steakhouse in the city easily and one of the best restaurants in the state.

    Lynns is also good and still around.
