Go big or go home hahaha Westbrook is crazy, but maybe that's good. We were ISO heavy and no way it was going to change drastically so might as well go with a guy like him.
So long as everyone's on board with Russell's Rules, should be good. Russell's Rules: 1. Box out, clear out- on both ends & at the line, give Russ first shot at all boards. 2. When Russ find's you, SHOOT or back to him. Don't turn his assist into a hockey assist. 3. James Harden needs to learn to play without the ball- move around, spot up threes. 4. Generally don't F. with Russell's triple double stats. 5. Always have Russell's back. On the court and off (pressers etc.)
There's 0 point in changing the coach now Westbrook is the most inflexible player in the NBA. He literally has no skills apart from his athleticism so what will a new coach do? WB is too dumb to play any other system other than ISOs. We ride or die with this coach and system. The Harden era will either succeed or fail within the next 4 years.
no he isn't. a non spacer next to harden is not an upgrade a bad ft shooting pg is not an upgrade a horribly inefficient pg is not an upgrade a egocentric pg is not an upgrade
The biggest issue when we were losing was rebounding and sometimes Chris not being able to beat his man. At least we don't have those issues anymore. Hopefully Russ's 3 point percentage goes back up. We really need a decent 3/D sf that can start and then we should be set.
What’s the question? A 34 year old Paul is probably still better than Russel Westbrook so it’s plausible that the Rockets aren’t as good as they were before the trade. But I understand the trade. Westbrook probably gives you more games and he’s younger so it extends your window of competitiveness. Paul could really fall of a cliff at any point. I’m neutral about the trade but it could definitely work out in the long run.
Does this trade still happen if Paul signs for 30 mil/yr instead of 40 ?? It's like telling one lie and you must tell another. One f*** up leads to another.
Westbrick is career 30% for 3s. Need to tell westbrook to not shoot any 3s and just drive to the basket everytime!
Oh man. This is so gross. A straight up CP for Westbrook trade would bave been bad. The fact that we included picks makes this disgusting. OKC robbed us. Presti got his revenge for the Harden trade
Im not worried about his 3pt shooting %. I think Dantoni will put him in an offense that will allow him to use that speed and attacking capability he has. OKC had a bad offense and they never had the shooters to space the floor like we do. Russ coming off a screen playing downhill will be damn near impossible to stop. He is just so dynamic. I hope this is not the last move we make to shore up the role players around them. Still need that SF and or PF to come aboard.
This is the one aspect I think contrasts well with Harden...Westbrook just goes, pure energy, no one ever doubts his effort. He's certainly talented and MDA is PG whisperer so hopefully MDA can work on his bad habits more than his previous coaches.
its funny how, you could probably search the post history of over half the board and everyone talks about wb and his negative attributes. how he's so inefficient, terrible decision maker, ego driven, cant shoot. etc all of a sudden that's flipped eh
Russ is a poor shooter but we hate it when our guys just stand around chucking anyway. He steals rebounds but we don't rebound anyway. Everyone wanted the guys to push the pace and Russ can do that.
CP was worse last season in every advanced metric that wasn't WS/48, eFG% and TS%. BPM, VORP, PER, total WS all went to Russ. Games played leans Russ. Durability towards Russ. APG and RPG towards Russ. PPG towards Russ. He is the superior player. Also three years younger. They are also on identical contracts, except Russ has a player option in his last year. Was it worth the 4 picks? maybe not. If he wins a championship here though then I personally couldn't give a **** about those 4 picks.
OKC will be good next year. CP3 is still a really good player when he’s allowed to run the show, I think. I could see them winning 50 games next year. Sure would be something if the Rockets end up winning less games than the Thunder.
