Who would've thought that Josh "damaged goods" Smith would reinvent himself and lead the birth of Clutch City 2?? After being a complete no-show in Games 1-4, he did not quit. He plays with no fear, no fear at all and took over in the 4th quarter of Game 6 when it looked like he had the opportunity to take control. Due to his revamped image, Smith made the unlikely sacrifice to play less than half the game on most nights and make the plays that this team NEEDS him to make. Bravo, J-Smoove. Bravo.
I agree that he was big for us. With regards to reinvent, I am not sure about that. In almost all of his interviews, he keeps mentioning that our coaches allow him to play HIS style of basketball. It was the other coaches who tried reinventing him.
Josh Smith has been Huge! The trickle down effect of having D12 since he chose houston to join forces with his childhood buddy
I still can't get over him in Game 6 is it weird that I almost consider him a Rockets legend already for that?
"damaged goods" is an understatement, he was supposed to be team cancer. Detroit was laughing at us when we picked him up - he had early troubles, and they went on a win streak. Who's laughing now... Are they still paying him by the way?
It was certainly a legendary moment in the history of this franchise. It will become more and more legendary with each extra playoff win beyond that moment.
This is going to be his first conference final, right? Still amazed how he just fell on our laps too. It was meant to be.
Still SMH at all those who absolutely insisted he was a bad signing, bad influence, bad fit. Those guys just need to STFU the rest of postseason. There was a reason Morey coveted Smoove.
Yup. I was doubtful in the beginning, but he has been (mostly) sensational this postseason. There is Good Smoove and Bad Smoove for sure, but the good has faaaaaaaaaaaar outweighed the bad. He's unafraid of big moments, and there's a lot to be said for that at this stage of the game.
Haha, guys, look what I found on Twitter! https://twitter.com/120sports/status/553092630804840448 Also, DD is so confused right now
This is amazing to me, all 4 of these guys played key roles in the playoffs and all 4 came we picked off from Lottery Teams. This is half of our playoff rotation. Josh Smith - Pistons (Lottery Team) Jason Terry - Kings (Lottery Team) Corey Brewer - Timberwolves (Lottery Team) Pablo Prigioni - Knicks (Lottery Team)
