Exactly. If he can continue to play like he did as a starter this season in the playoffs, I think he can well as important as EG/PJ in our team. Our record without him isn't bad, but there're several really bad losses which we can definitely win with him, e.g., the loss to the Nets, OKC and Lakers, and probably last game against Warriors. We could have been in a very good position to compete for no 1 seed in the west and Harden would have a much better chance to win MVP after a Wilt type of season. Although there is probably no chance to get under the tax line if we signed House earlier, and I think that is one of the main reasons why he wasn't signed earlier.
the thing is even if his 3pt shot goes cold, he's still one of the few guys on the team who can attack the rim and convert. he's also probably our only 2-way player on the roster as well, considering how poor cp3 and ego have been defensively this year
Yeah he had a number of issues by the time he ended his high school career. Let’s just say he wasn’t coming back to UH regardless.
They are going to be mad at Morey for not giving him the money now. Didn't the agent request the full MLE. Assuming that he plays how he has as a Rocket, it probably would of been a bargain contract.
Then they should have made all three years guaranteed. Also, if House continues this level of play, Morey better prioritize bringing him back above either Rivers or Faried.
Faried can’t defend and he never will.... he can score and rebound, but for a team trying to be top 5-6 defensively, hard to do that with Faried getting 25 minutes. Rivers just isn’t a great shooter... he can really defend well one on one. He can run the floor and pass and he is clutch. However we have Paul and Harden and Gordon. The Rockets also need guards that can hit 3’s. House isn’t as good a scorer or rebounder as Faried, and he isn’t as good a defender as Rivers... but he is well rounded, he fits the system and is at a position of need.
I guess House was smart to bet on himself. I really hope the Rockets can keep him. We need everything this guy offers on both ends. His defense and overall effort level was a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to even seeing EG and House at the 3 and 4 for stretches with the Clint, CP, and James. Even if just for a few minutes, it may be our most explosive lineup.
Was it Tilman’s fault, or was it Morey’s pride concerning not converting two-way deals for the remainder of the season?
