What stuck out to me was PJ was struggling offensively last season around this time, averaging 6.6 vs. career average of 7.4. So far this season PJ is averaging exactly 7.4 ppg, his career average. So if anyone expects PJ to help with increasing the scoring going forward, do not hold your breath.
I'd happily take him honestly, but the descriptions of his anger towards MDA for being benched during the playoffs doesn't sound mendable. He rebounded well, scored efficiently, brought a lot of energy, brings the lob factor, can run the court, and was even hitting 35% of his 3's at nearly 1 attempt per game. Yes was pretty bad defensively, but for the vet min, with all the other positive he brings to the game, he's well worth the tire kick... if not for the beef with MDA, sigh.
I really like his speed, he can run to the rim to do slam dunk. Shoot 3 points or not is not important, he can throw the ball out to players in the 3 point line. MDA should treasure him and give him some time to play. I think Morey should discuss with MDA whether he can give him a chance when there are no good center in the trading market. It is because our situation really look like last year caplea injury. It is worth to try again if it does not cost too much of money
The real problem is our most pressing need is a big who can defend and get defensive rebounds. The opposite of what Faried is good at. He’s an all offense small ball big with energy whose positive rebounding numbers are on the offensive end, not defensive. Beef with the coach or not. He’s not on our roster for a reason that has nothing to do with that. Further he’s not on any roster and there is a reason for that.
Jonah Bolden - 6'10 7'3 wingspan 39% 3P Kenneth Faried - 6'7 7'0 wingspan 35% 3P Bolden better passer, perimeter defender, disruptor, much better fit in Rockets system.
Faried is actually pretty solid at getting defensive rebounds (on top of his elite offensive rebounding) he has a career average of 23% defensive rebounding rate, this is roughly the same as Hartensteins defensive rebounding this season, which is at 24%. Around 20-25% is a solid rate for your average center.
some of yall has selective memory. I still remember he was so lost on defense that he did not know who he should switch to. Him on defense is like 4 against 5. He didn't play in the post season for a reason. Besides that he can leap, he brings more negatives to the team than the positive.
Actually, last year we were losing games like this until we brought in Faried, then we shot straight up the rankings. Hate to say it, even though his defence sucks, we do him back to win a more games.
Who was he a liability against? When he played we instantly got better. The facts aren't are your side
