Actually, our coach is like a loving-father figure to the players. We are fine guys.. we are doing fine - when we are down 20pts or whatever. Tell them the truth and let them have it.

p.s. it would really be good if the coach give them specifics to focus on during those timeouts like, rebound.. rebound. Block out. Continue to be aggressive. Whatever. Sure there is a game plan that the players should know, but if you see the group not executing, get on them.. remind them. Encouraging words is great for the young groups, but let's have some specifics too please.
