Who cares? You can play this same idiotic card for a number of players as hindsight is always 20/20.

From what I remember, he was tentative and still coming off an injury. When in the game, he was a defensive liability and offensively wasnt giving us enough. He's a different player today, but would have required two years of investment in his growth and hope that his body would hold up during that time.

McHale was high on him then with no waiting. Here's what he said:

“He’s a great guy,” McHale said. “Knows how to play. He’s past so much of the stuff he had to get past as a young player to be a team player. He just has a whole vibe about him that’s great.

“I was advocating very hard for his influence.”

He had played very well in the preseason too. I remember hoping he would make the cut.

I'm amazed at the stats he's been putting up in Atlanta, I remember him being a hustle player and decent defender, but never would I have guessed he'd the Hawks leading scorer.

17 ppg, 7 rbd, 2 ast, 1 stl, shooting 52/44/81 in 35 mp + being a good defender and playing with good energy.

Very interested to see how his free agency this summer turns out. To me he's easily worth 10 mill a year, especially with the new TV deal coming.

Lol, your are the opposite of sophisticated. Sophisticated fans don't think we should have kept a 6 point/game bench guy for 3 years just because he had one of his two 18+ point games against us.

    Lol best response yet.

Keep in mind the kid never has been a 10 ppg player even at being 4-5 inches taller then the person guarding him. He has one lucky game against us and this thread was made... obviously a 1 star thread.

On top of everything else, even if we had kept Livingston, we would have had to renounce his rights in order to sign Dwight.

Looks l like McHale and me are in agreement and you're in the minority, water boy. See this at the time he was waived:

“He’s a great guy,” McHale said. “Knows how to play. He’s past so much of the stuff he had to get past as a young player to be a team player. He just has a whole vibe about him that’s great.

“I was advocating very hard for his influence.”

Like you know basketball more than McHale? Yeah, right.

Compared to other teams, overall I think we have a net positive finding hidden gems and letting bad players go vs passing on good players.

It wasn't even much of a whiff on Livingston, he's a bench rotation guy who can get decent minutes. I'm happy he was able to comeback after that horrific injury though, good on him.

Livingston signed as a FA this summer. So "letting him go" back then doesnt determine whether he is a Rocket currently.

If u want to argue that the current team could have had Livingston, the relevant decision was not signing him in summer 2014 and instead using the MLE on Papanikalaou.

Not really true. Livingston agreed to sign with GS on July 1. We would have had to punt on Melo, Bosh and the whole free agency period with no guarantee that we could have got Livingston.
