Tuned into ESPN radio this morning and there was an in depth discussion about the finals matchup between GSW and Boston...Curry vs Irving etc.

Guess they gave up on the MVP discussion since Harden might win it.

    SMH.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- For any team other than the Golden State Warriors, it might be presumptuous to ponder potential NBA Finals opponents. But the Warriors have earned a right to ponder such things given their dominance in recent seasons.

So with the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics in town for a Saturday night showdown, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked if there was anything his team could learn from seeing a potential playoff foe. The obvious insinuation: Might this be a potential Finals preview?

Kerr didn't shy away from it.

"These are always interesting games when you know you have a chance to be in the Finals and you know kind of who the potential opponents are," Kerr said. "You always play closer attention for that reason."

Whoop dee doo! This is what ESPN does ad nauseam. They create narratives to attract more TV viewers and clicks on their website. It's one of the reasons I despise them so much. IMO, would be better if they stuck to just reporting news.

FWIW, I don't think the Celts will make the Finals.

In 2019 playoffs, Celtics have a good chance to defeat Warriors.

Trade proposal: Kawhi Leonard to Boston.

    Centerpiece:

Tatum, 2018 Lakers pick and 2019 Clippers pick to spurs

I'm sorry but the Celtics do not stand a chance against Bron no matter how discombobulated the current state of his team is. They had issues within the team last year too. But then playoffs rolled around and they breezed through the East. I expect the same this year tbh.

I will say though, with a healthy Hayward we could actually have this conversation.

It baffles me that anyone thinks the Celtics are taking out LeBron.

I would put money on the current Cavs team to beat the Celtics in a series if it started tomorrow.

'LeBron is the worst defender in the league'
    'They hate each other'

It's almost as if no one realises LeBron is picking his spots. It's the Eastern Conference. He's never needed the #1 seed to reach the Finals.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I pray Boston meet Cleveland in the ECF.

We'll probably see the best basketball LeBron has ever played in his career. People seriously think the Celtics can beat that? I'm not even touching on the holy war IT will be waging in that series too.

Agree, except for last part. Gordon would cower to Bron.

celtics play defense on the warriors better than anybody in the league but the warriors still got too much firepower and high end talent.

even with hayward it won't make a difference.

LeBron is not losing to Boston unless they get Hayward back

Celtics will beat Cavaliers this year because:
    Irving >>>> Thomas
    LeBron is clearly declining

It's strange that you think the reason the Celtics will beat the Cavs is because the Celtics' best player, is better than the Cavaliers' third best player currently who is injured.

A 'declining' LeBron is miles, miles, miles better than anyone on the Celtics roster.

Let's revisit the 'declining' comment when the Playoffs are here and LeBron starts to care.

LeBron is balling out of control
    but
I think he still has another gear for the playoffs.

The issue is can the others STOP ANYONE
    LeBron/Wade/Love will give Maximum Effort. . . the others. . . . I dunno

I think Love is the Cavs' X FACTOR .. . if he can get the midget out of his head
and Go back to being KEVIN FREAKING LOVE

    They will crush the Celtics
