Kyle Tucker doesn’t need to be in left field every game. In fact he doesn’t need to be in the big leagues right now. He has around a .450 OPS and the Astros are locked in a very close division race.

Tucker can try to earn the corner outfield spot next spring.

    He’s totaled 59 PAs.

I’m not arguing you’re wrong, per se. But if he’s here, it should be to play every day. Otherwise, no need to jerk him around.

And he’s actually literally *hit* the ball extremely well - he’s just had a string of rotten luck. He has ~6 or so 100+ MPH outs that are hits 60-65% of the time.

I haven’t seen him hit well overall at all. He has looked overmatched. Maybe he would start hitting well if he played every day but I personally doubt it.

I agree on sending him down if he isn’t playing.

    Correction: it’s 12 100+ MPH batted balls. He’s 2/12 (.167); league average of 100+ MPH BB is .619.

    That’s essentially a ~100-point swing in BA.

He isn't playing and they're sending him down for Altuve.

I would of traded him the first time he was sent down. He's susceptible to the inside pitch.

We need a spark just like last year. Astros just need to win the division. Given our starting rotation and success on the road, trading for a solid bat would do wonders for the Astros.

Should have traded Derek Fisher last season too but he was a untouchable prospect and now he has no real value

He hasn't been overmatched, though. His 19% K rate - while not great - on this team, places him middle of the pack (tied with Springer and better than Correa, Gattis, Gonzalez, Marisnick, Stassi, White). Of his 41 batted balls, 12 had an exit velocity of 100+ MPH; that's roughly 30% of his hits. He has a higher EVO average than George Springer.

Based on how hard he's hit the ball, his XBA/XOBA/XSLG on batted balls is .282/.353/.426. Unfortunately, he has a .195 BABip, which is rotten luck rather than any indication he's overmatched.

Everyone is clamoring for the Astros to add a game-changing bat... If Kyle Tucker can live up to... *most* of his potential, he has a potentially more impactful bat than any other reasonably available bat via trade. And the team essentially spent the past month jerking him around for reasons I can't fathom.

Stop taking up for him. He has been overmatched it's a much different game.
    Ask Bregman.

    Js
I swear Tucker is not god.

Tucker should have gone for Realmuto bottom line.
Fisher should have been gone last year for Britton

we won the ******* world series last year.... why on earth do you think we should have done anything differently? remember when bregman started something like 1-38? you're the guy who was probably clamoring to trade him too.

whether or not tucker will be a good major leaguer is a total unknown, but projecting him a bust after 59 PA's says a lot more about how clueless you are than anything else.

God, the Nationals are so stupid. Should've done this weeks ago. I am not happy that the Cubs got better.

It's so disheartening that we live in a era in which posting objectively true information is either passionately questioned or outright dismissed.

There are many rational anti-Kyle Tucker opinions; calling him overmatched simply isn't one of them - at least as it relates to how most of us would define overmatched.

Not surprised that it was the CUbs claiming Murphy. Those rumors were true, and I honestly didn’t not expect him to make it long enough on the waivers to become available for an AL team to claim him, much less clear the waivers, given how tough the competition isn’t in the NL. Anyway, now’s the time to go get Smoak.

Next is McCutchen. Bet the Dodgers claim him

    Any takers???
They understand no player that is decent should slide by them.
So of all the players that have went unclaimed. Smoak is the only one who makes any kind of since and we do alot of business with those guys so peace of cake
